KiiPix Photo Printer Review

Have you got that friend/kid/someone that loves taking photos on their devices, and don't know what to get them this Christmas? If you're on a budget, this may be the item for you!

KiiPix is a smartphone photo printer, that instantly prints out Fujifilm Instax Film photos from your phone! No batteries, and no Bluetooth connection needed. This is a great gift for parents who don't want to spend over $100 on a photo printer, and who want something that will be easy to use and kid friendly.

How exactly does it do that? KiiPix unfolds itself, and captures the images from your smartphone. Make sure to have your brightness up at 80-100%, and also make sure that your screen doesn't dim while you're in the process of capturing photos. Once you got the film installed, a picture chosen, and everything ready to go, you just click down on the grey lever! Once that's done, you twist the knob and the film is dispensed out of the printer! It's manual, but it's super easy.

I'm going to be honest though, you're not going to get the BEST quality photos, but it does the job. It's taking a photo of a photo basically, so it's not going to be 100% perfect. I found that it really depends on the brightness of your screen, and the brightness of the photo itself. I found that lighter photos turned out better, but if there was too much white in the photo, it was a bit too contrasted and white. It's all about figuring the right settings for your phone and photos before printing.

Besides that, it's a very easy printer to use, and it's a very good gift for kids who want to print out photos from their phone, but don't want to fork up a fortune to do so on an expensive photo printer. I know when I was younger I used to love decorating my walls with photos, and printing them out was always a mission. Asking my parents to take me to Walmart so I could print out photos. With this, I could have totally done it from the comfort of my own home! The printer itself comes in 3 cute colours, and is portable and not too big that it takes up desk space.

With this printer, it uses the Fujifilm Instax Mini film, which is awesome because I have the camera and I never use it. Personally, I enjoy taking photos on my phone and using that to print out my photos. With the Fujifilm camera, the photos didn't turn out the way I wanted them, and it was always hard to get the best shot. At least with KiiPix, I'm able to print the photos I love, and with ease.

KiiPix and Fujifilm Instax Mini Film can be found at ToysRUs.ca and also in stores this holiday season!

Monthly Watch Club Review

When it comes to gift giving, sometimes it's hard to find gifts for someone who has everything. Do you know someone like that? Then maybe this post is for you. Now, I feel like this would be a great gift idea for that fashionista in your life, or that person that loves to dress up, accessorize, and just always have a new and fun look. Why not give the gift of a monthly watch subscription?

monthly watch club, monthly watch club review, subscription boxes
I know, it sounds weird, but wouldn't the gift of a new watch every month be exciting? Imagine getting a new present, every month and each one is a surprise. With Monthly Watch Club, you get just that. For as little as $33 a month (CAD), You can get a new watch right to your doorstep, every month. monthly watch club, monthly watch club review, subscription boxes
I'm a huge fan of subscription boxes, and I thought this would be a great gift idea for that friend that loves to accessorize, or changes their outfits more than you can count. Monthly watch club caters to both men and women, so no one is left out. You're getting a good quality watch for a very good price. It's great for someone who loves to dress up their outfits, without spending a fortune on high end, brand name watches.

monthly watch club, monthly watch club review, subscription boxesI love that this watch acts as a bracelet as well. The face of the watch is very minimalistic, and totally wearable for my everyday needs. The band itself is a faux suede bracelet, with studded rhinestones. It has a very modern, boho vibe, which is different from what I would normally love, but still a great overall design.

monthly watch club, monthly watch club review, subscription boxes
For the price you're paying, the watch quality is quite outstanding. The gift of a subscription would be great for anyone who loves to accessorize, or even anyone who loves to collect different types of watches.

Based on how much you're willing to spend for said gift receiver, Monthly Watch Club allows you to purchase a monthly subscription, that would charge you month to month, purchase a 3 month subscription, a 6 month subscription, and even one year if you're feeling generous.

So what're you waiting for? Time is literally running out.

Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask Review

neutrogena light therapy acne mask review, neutrogena skin care, neutrogena
I've always been a fan of trying new ways to improve my skin. I teamed up with Neutrogena to try and review this cool looking Light Therapy Acne Mask

A first few things about the mask:
- it's an innovative LED device that uses the power of light to address the causes of acne, all in the comfort of your own home
- the mask works for all skin types
- it harnesses the power of light to treat mild to moderate acne
- it's 100% uv free and a chemical free treatment

neutrogena light therapy acne mask review, neutrogena skin care, neutrogena
Neutrogena is taking skincare to a whole new level. With this unique way of treating acne, this mask is suppose to reduce breakouts, smoothen skin, reduce redness and inflamed acne. In the box, you receive the mask itself, which is reusable, and an activator.

The thing about this "activator" though. The remote looking device works for only 30 uses. After that, you can recycle the activator. Neutrogena provides a place to dispose of these activators, and lets you print out a pre paid shipping label, which you then ship out the device to be disposed of. You can find more information about that here. I'm a bit irked by this because of the fact so many activators are wasted when they clearly can be used for more than 30 uses. Neutrogena states that they've done this because they want the power of each use to be consistent. If they were to allow the device to be rechargable, or let you change the batteries yourself, you wouldn't be receiving consistent, even light treatments, and it wouldn't be safe and FDA approved. I did some research on what other people thought about this, and found that answer within the reviews. Yes it's totally wasteful, but, there's a reason for everything.

neutrogena light therapy acne mask review, neutrogena skin care, neutrogena
The mask itself is made from plastic, fitted with many blue and red lights. The blue light kills acne causing bacteria, while the red light helps with reducing inflammation. In just one easy step, the dual lights help with disrupting the acne cycle, thus providing clear and healthy skin.

In the box, you get one mask and one activator. The activator works for 30 10 minute treatments. Be careful not to get trigger happy and press the button too many times, because it could accidentally count as one treatment. The activator has a countdown starting from 30, and then it counts down until you're finished. Once finished, you recycle your activator, and purchase a new one.

neutrogena light therapy acne mask review, neutrogena skin care, neutrogena
Here I am, looking like a welder or some sort of pink superhero hahaha.

neutrogena light therapy acne mask review, neutrogena skin care, neutrogena
The first few times, the light was super bright and bothered my eyes. I got used to it after the first couple treatments. I like that I can wear the mask and still be able to see and do stuff. To use the mask, you clean your face first, and then use it on clean skin. After your 10 minutes is up, the mask will turn off itself.

I still have a couple uses with the mask, so I'll hopefully be able to post before and after shots once I'm done. As it currently stands, my review for the mask is quite positive, surprisingly. I felt at first the mask was a gimmick, and it wouldn't do anything at all. To my surprise, I haven't broken out since using it. I get a new pimple somewhere on my face at least once to a few times a week. I have a terrible hormonal imbalance, and it literally causes super big, painful pimples. I would say I have quite mild/moderate acne, and I feel like it has controlled it a little bit. Redness is definitely a big issue when it comes to my skin, and that is one thing I didn't see a change in. I guess it can't improve everything! Of course, acne is a big concern, and I'm quite pleased that I haven't broken out in the past few weeks.

Is it worth a try? Yeah I don't see why you shouldn't give this product a shot. The mask itself isn't too crazy for a skincare product ($45-$50) and the activators are about $15 for a 30 day treatment. If your acne is just mild, and you want to just improve that, I say why not. I don't recommend this for people who have severe acne, I doubt this mild light treatment would do much for you. I would repurchase the activator if I was going through a really rough month and my skin was looking pretty bad. Within a week, I felt like my skin was improving and I was already cleared of mild acne I had.

Thanks Neutrogena for sponsoring this post, and allowing me to review this product.

Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick Review

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
I'm forever thankful when great opportunities are brought upon me. I got a chance to review the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick through Chick Advisor, and I couldn't be happier. I was in the market to try a new foundation for the winter months, and this was a new type of foundation I've been eager to re-try.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
A little about this foundation stick. It claims to last 24 hours, provides all day colour, and has a matte finish. It also has a powder-creme formula, and SPF 21.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
It comes in a sleek little tube, very simple. The price is quite steep ($50) for quite the small amount of product. I found that swiping a little bit made a difference in the amount you had left.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
The stick. The foundation glides on effortlessly. It's not drying, but not that wet either.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
I feel like from this swatch, you can see that the stick is not super creamy, but not too drying either. It applies very easily, and the pigmentation is amazing for one swipe.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
Here I am with no make-up. I have discolouration around my eyes, and redness everywhere else. Don't mind my untamed eyebrows, it's been a while since I got them waxed.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
I applied it everywhere as needed. After the first layer, I went on for about 2 more layers to try and build up the coverage. It definitely stayed at a medium coverage, despite me caking on the product.

lancome review, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick, lancome teint idole ultra longwear foundation stick review, 330 bisque n, chick advisor
Here is the final look. The foundation looked great and felt very light. It wasn't at all heavy, and was like my skin but better. It didn't stick around my nose very well though.

Verdict?
Pros: The foundation was super easy to apply, making it great for days I need a quick make-up look, without the hassle of having to blend out my liquid foundation. For something so dry compared to a liquid foundation, it worked well with my Beauty Blender. It definitely provided that matte finish that I'm looking for, considering I have very oily skin. It lasted for about 6-7 hours before some oil started peaking out around my nose and on my cheeks.
Cons: The smell of the foundation. It smelt like crayons, but it wasn't super smelly unless you actually put your nose up to it. It didn't last 24 hours like it claimed. I found it to rub off easily around my nose, so it didn't last long at all over my oily skin. It didn't have the coverage I was hoping for. Yes, it was very pigmented, but when blended, it only stayed a medium coverage foundation. Maybe if I used a brush it would be different? I'll have to try that out later.

Overall Thoughts?
I enjoyed using this foundation, especially on days I wanted a light foundation and a "my face my better" look. It provided me with a natural look, and didn't feel heavy or cakey at all. It's a great foundation for people who don't want that full coverage, but still want to cover their blemishes and discolouration. Maybe when my skin gets drier in the winter months, the foundation will work better for me? For now as my skin still is oily, this foundation will have to sit on the sidelines until then.

Brand Spotlight: Maison Jacynthe Makeup Review

Today we are getting back to basics with an old style of blog post that I haven't done in ages! If you're a new reader here, my brand spotlights consist of a little back story of the brand I'm trying, along with a make-up look using the various products the brand carries.

Lucky me, I got the chance to review some new make-up goodies that have just released. Maison Jacynthe is a company based out of Quebec, Canada, that originates from the brand Les Soins de Jacynthe. The name of the company comes from the founder; Jacynthe Rene; a famous actress from Quebec, a writer of Jmagazine, and also a producer.

The brand itself focuses on providing cruelty free products, and being all natural.

I got the opportunity to choose three products, so I went with a blush, eyeshadow and lipstick.

Blush - 01 Romeo
maison jacynthe, maison jacynthe makeup, review, maison jacynthe beauty review
I was a bit shocked to see how much darker this blush was in person. The colour payoff is absolutely amazing, and a little does go a long way. I thought the blush colour would be too dark for me, but with a light hand, it gives you a gorgeous, natural deep glow. Along with the great colour, the blush also has a very nice, natural scent to it. It's subtle and not at all overpowering.

Eyeshadow - 03 Italiano

The eyeshadow is super creamy and silky. It's easily blendable and easy to work with. A great all over the lid shade.

Lipstick - 03 Garnet

The lipstick comes in a beautiful aluminum and wood casing, definitely showcasing the natural look. The shade I chose is a pretty strawberry pink with a frost finish.

Here you can see the eyeshadow all over my lid, which I applied with my finger. The blush is the only thing on my cheek.

Glasses Shop Review

I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not a glasses person. I love wearing coloured contacts, and I would choose to wear contacts over glasses any day. When GlassesShop.com offered me glasses, in exchange for my honest review, I decided to give it a shot.

GlassesShop.com is an online retailer for cheap, affordable glasses. It's a great place to purchase all your eyeglasses online, offering a variety of styles. They do try and stay up to date with the trends, so you can easily find a cute pair of glasses to suit your needs. Besides providing prescription glasses, they also offer prescription sunglasses too. I do have to mention though. These glasses will be shipped from China, so expect a very long wait for them. The glasses came in a small white box, along with a clear plastic glasses case and grey glasses cloth.

I chose the Anaheim Wayfarer Glasses because I wanted something thin on the sides, and that would look good with my round face. I normally only wear glasses when I'm at home, or when my eyes hurt from wearing contacts all day.

glassesshop.com, glassesshop.com review, glasses, online glasses, prescription glasses, perscription sunglasses, glassesshop.com reviews
I absolutely love the touch of gold on the sides of the glasses. The glasses are very lightweight and feel quite durable. For something so affordable, they are great quality. I was hesitant ordering glasses online because I couldn't physically try it on, or know the distance between my pupils. It was quite easy to measure it too. To measure the distance between your pupils, get someone to do it for you, or stand in front of a mirror. Get a ruler and place it in front of eyes. Measure the distance between the centers of your pupils, to determine the distance!

glassesshop.com, glassesshop.com review, glasses, online glasses, prescription glasses, perscription sunglasses, glassesshop.com reviews
Normally I hate glasses, but I love these ones. They're very comfortable on, and I LOVE that the frames barely touch my cheeks. I've been on the hunt for glasses that don't touch my face constantly because of my fat cheeks, and I think I've found them. Most glasses I had would just rest on my cheeks all day, getting my face all moist and oily.

If you're interested in purchasing a pair of glasses, you're in luck! With the promo code GSHOT50, you'll be able to get 50% off a pair of glasses or sunglasses with free lenses (sale frames excluded).

As an avid contact lens wearer, it's a nice change to have glasses, especially ones that I really love. I'll definitely be trying to incorporate glasses into my daily life, to give my eyes a rest from contact lenses.

Coco Rinse Coconut Oil Pulling Kit Review

When it comes to fresh breath and having a white smile, I would say I don't excel in this department. I've tried whitening kits in the past, only for it to fail once I went back to old habits of drinking coffee, and soda.

So what exactly brought you to my blog today? It must be because you're wondering what coconut oil pulling is too. I only recently heard of this trend, and now it is one of my favourite parts of my morning routine.

What is oil pulling?
Oil pulling is the process of swishing around a tablespoon of coconut oil daily in your mouth for around 10-20 minutes, to draw and pull out toxins from your body. It's a great, natural way to get whiter teeth, along with freshening your breath.

I was given the opportunity to try a 14 day kit and see what oil pulling was all about. Kismet Essentials is a company based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, providing us with natural products that are organic and non-GMO. Their coconut oil is also certified fair trade, and produced in a sustainable and environmental way. Learn more about Kismet Essentials here.

Lucky for me, Kismet Essentials offers their coconut oil in little daily sachets, allowing for easier travel and providing you with the right amount of oil a day.

kismet essentials, kismet coco rinse coconut oil pulling kit, kismet coco rinse coconut oil pulling kit review, coconut oil pulling, whiten teeth with coconut oil
It couldn't be easier to use too. All you do is open up the sachet, swish in your mouth for 10-20 minutes, and spit it out. It's best to do it in the mornings once you wake up. After your oil pulling session, just brush your teeth and floss. I was pretty skeptical with pouring coconut oil in my mouth at first, but I got used to it after about 3 days. The cool mint flavour is quite a weird combination with coconut for me, but it honestly works.

What are the benefits of oil pulling?
Everyone experiences different results, but many people claim the following:
- whiter teeth
- fresher breath
- improved digestion
- reduced headaches
- cleaner tongue and mouth
- better immune system
- reduced plaque
and so on.

My thoughts? Over the 14 days of testing the product, the real change I did notice was the overall cleanliness my teeth and mouth felt. My breath always felt fresher, and my mouth felt extra clean. I definitely would agree that it does a wonderful job cleaning your mouth, and making everything feel good for the start of your day. I was hoping for whiter teeth, but so far, not a huge difference in change. Coconut oil pulling is definitely a great way to get a healthy smile, the natural way. I could see this being a great addition to anyone's morning routine.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE.

If you're interested in purchasing your own Kismet Coco Rinse Coconut Oil Pulling Kit, I do have a promo code for my lovely readers! When you check out, enter the promo code BLUSHING and you'll get 15% off your entire order!

If you care about the health of your smile, it's worth the try.

Travalo Review

I think the worst thing to forget when you're running late on a hot summers day, is putting on your perfume. I think it's crucial to smell nice especially when you have to deal with stinky, sweaty people on your commute to work if you're taking the bus/subway.

travalo, travalo review
The Travalo allows you to easily take your favourite perfume with you, everywhere you go. No more forgetting your perfume, or not being able to freshen up on your scent. Now, you can take your perfume with you no matter where you are!

travalo, travalo review
Super compact and chic, the Travalo comes in a variety of shades, allowing you to fill up to 5ml; the equivalent of 65 sprays! Of course, being under 5ml of liquid, it's also TSA approved for taking onto airplanes.

travalo, travalo review
The Travalo allows you to refill fragrances in a flash with its patented Genie-S pump fill system. This system ensures that your perfume isn't exposed to the air, so that you will get that exact same scent from the original bottle.

You take your perfume bottle and pop off the spray top. Using the bottom of the Travalo, push down on the perfume bottle top, and pump a few times until the Travalo is filled.

travalo, travalo review
It's as easy as that! Now you have your favourite perfume readily available in your purse. What I love about this is once I finish using the perfume in my Travalo, I can easily fill it up with another one of my favourite perfumes, without the worries of having to purchase a deluxe/travel size.

I actually received a Travalo mini for either my birthday or Christmas a few years ago from my cousin, and I love it. I currently have Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb in my mini one, and in this big red one, I put one of my favourite Victoria Secret Pink body sprays. Perfect for my gym bag after I get all sweaty.

Personally, this is an affordable way to carry around your expensive perfume, without the hassle of purchasing a smaller deluxe size, that also may break if it's made of glass. Not only that, it's interchangeable once you finish it! It's like you have a new travel sized perfume every time you're done.

Purchase yours at us.travalo.com.

O-Lens Circle Lens Review (Jenith 3 Color Sky Gray)

If you're a new reader to my blog, howdy. If you're a frequent visitor, then you know that I love wearing coloured contact lenses. I love having the ability to change my eye colour everyday, to whatever colour suits my mood. I love the freedom of expression that they provide to me. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with having my dark, boring very very dark almost black eyes, I just prefer my eyes to stand out, and look brighter. Everyone has their preference, and mine is definitely grey eyes.
pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
I got the opportunity to try out some O-Lens in the colour Jenith 3 Sky Gray from Pinkicon

Before I get started on my review, let me explain a little more about pinkicon.com. Pinkicon is one of the largest circle lenses distributor in Hong Kong. They offer over 300 types of circle lenses originating from Japan and Korea (so you know they're amazing).

Not only do they have a large variety, they also offer free worldwide shipping on all their circle lenses! Every month under the sale tab, they also have special promotions going on for selected circle lenses, so you can save on your favourite brands.

Anyways, on to the review!

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
Here is what the back of the contact lenses packaging looked like. Of course I know how to wear contacts, assuming these are instructions.. so lucky for me I hope none of this was important!

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
Yes, I have terrible vision. The contacts come in a pair of glass jars, as do most asian circle lenses.

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
The sky gray has a hint of yellow to it, and the gray has a subtle hint of blue. The one thing I disliked about these contacts is the very noticeable pixels in the lenses. It's not a huge deal, but it could of been better.

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
Here it is beside my all time favourite coloured contacts, Desio Smokey Gray. You can't tell in this picture because the Desio lens is a bit blurry, but the pixels in the Desio one aren't that noticeable.

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
You can definitely see the difference here. The desio ones look more realistic, whereas these ones you can tell they aren't someone's real eyes. Now, don't go saying "wow people would really think those are your real eyes?" Yes! I've gotten many compliments on how gorgeous my eyes were while wearing Desio Smokey Gray, and people are shocked to hear that they aren't my real eyes.

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
Some pros about these lenses though. They are extremely comfortable. With Desio lenses, it takes a few tries for me to get them to feel comfortable in my eyes. Desio lenses do get drier faster (for me at least). These lenses are super comfortable, and I don't feel like I need eye drops after wearing them all day. The fact that they are comfortable could be because they also feel very lightweight.

pinkicon, o-lens, jenith 3 color sky gray
From far away, you wouldn't notice that these weren't my real eyes. They are very wearable as day to day lenses as they do last 6 months. They also make your eyes appear a lot bigger as well. Overall, I'm very pleased with these lenses, and will be wearing them quite often because they're so comfortable!

Check out Pinkicon for all your circle lens needs.
