I'm forever thankful when great opportunities are brought upon me. I got a chance to review the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick through Chick Advisor, and I couldn't be happier. I was in the market to try a new foundation for the winter months, and this was a new type of foundation I've been eager to re-try.

A little about this foundation stick. It claims to last 24 hours, provides all day colour, and has a matte finish. It also has a powder-creme formula, and SPF 21.

It comes in a sleek little tube, very simple. The price is quite steep ($50) for quite the small amount of product. I found that swiping a little bit made a difference in the amount you had left.

The stick. The foundation glides on effortlessly. It's not drying, but not that wet either.

I feel like from this swatch, you can see that the stick is not super creamy, but not too drying either. It applies very easily, and the pigmentation is amazing for one swipe.

Here I am with no make-up. I have discolouration around my eyes, and redness everywhere else. Don't mind my untamed eyebrows, it's been a while since I got them waxed.

I applied it everywhere as needed. After the first layer, I went on for about 2 more layers to try and build up the coverage. It definitely stayed at a medium coverage, despite me caking on the product.

Here is the final look. The foundation looked great and felt very light. It wasn't at all heavy, and was like my skin but better. It didn't stick around my nose very well though.

Verdict?
Pros: The foundation was super easy to apply, making it great for days I need a quick make-up look, without the hassle of having to blend out my liquid foundation. For something so dry compared to a liquid foundation, it worked well with my Beauty Blender. It definitely provided that matte finish that I'm looking for, considering I have very oily skin. It lasted for about 6-7 hours before some oil started peaking out around my nose and on my cheeks.
Cons: The smell of the foundation. It smelt like crayons, but it wasn't super smelly unless you actually put your nose up to it. It didn't last 24 hours like it claimed. I found it to rub off easily around my nose, so it didn't last long at all over my oily skin. It didn't have the coverage I was hoping for. Yes, it was very pigmented, but when blended, it only stayed a medium coverage foundation. Maybe if I used a brush it would be different? I'll have to try that out later.

Overall Thoughts?
I enjoyed using this foundation, especially on days I wanted a light foundation and a "my face my better" look. It provided me with a natural look, and didn't feel heavy or cakey at all. It's a great foundation for people who don't want that full coverage, but still want to cover their blemishes and discolouration. Maybe when my skin gets drier in the winter months, the foundation will work better for me? For now as my skin still is oily, this foundation will have to sit on the sidelines until then.

This product was sent to me for reviewing and testing purposes.
