Budget Buys: Best Lip Products Under $10

To end off our budget buys series, we are going with lip products woo! Sorry to those who saw this post previously when there wasn't any words, I forgot to take it off auto schedule and I wasn't quite finished yet! I could have went off on this budget buy, but I decided to choose a few of my favourite budget brands with great lip products.

Best Lip Products Under $10

Essence Lip Liners ($1.99 CAD)

Essence is like my go to budget brand. I can find products for so cheap and about 80% of the time they are amazing. I'm not a huge fan of wearing or purchasing lip liners, so these are my holy grail. They are cheap and they work!

Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in "As You Want Victoria" ($6.98 CAD)

If you were a fan of these years ago, be happy that they are back again. I LOVE the Rimmel Moisture Renews because of the obvious, they're moisturizing. I mean, I love me some liquid lipsticks, but my lips are as dry as a desert sometimes. The colour payoff is amazing, and the quality is top notch for a drug store product. 

Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate in "103" ($6.98 CAD)

If I had to choose, I would say that Rimmel has the best lipsticks of all drug store lipsticks I've tried. The consistency is amazing and all the lipsticks I've owned of Rimmel has never let me down. These ones are especially amazing and pigmented. 103 is a super cute blush pink colour.

NYX Extra Creamy Round Stick Lipstick in "Fig" ($4.00 US)

I don't own many NYX lipsticks because they are hard to find in Canada, considering we don't have Target anymore *silently sobs*. Anyways, the lipsticks from the extra creamy line are beyond amazing. For under $10 you're getting a huge colour variety, and a product that keeps your lips looking juicy.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in "Dare to Wear" ($2.99 US)

I've recently done a review on this lipstick already, so I'll keep it short and sweet. A lipstick under $10 and has quite the staying power. Like I said, Essence is my go to budget beauty brand!

Budget Buys: Best Eye Products Under $10

We are back with our budget buys series. Today I will be discussing my favourite eye products all under $10. These are products that I would repurchase in a heart beat because they are amazing and the product quality is rather high for the price. Let's begin! 

Essence Eyebrow Pencil in "blonde" ($2.50-$3)

When I started getting into make-up and I found out that filling in your eyebrows was a thing, this was my go to eyebrow product. It does a great job filling in your brows and the pencil itself is pretty pigmented for something under 5 bucks. I use this with my spoolie to brush out the colour and evenly distribute the product. 

Colourpop Eyeshadows ($5 each)

Anyone who knows make-up knows about Colourpop, and if there's one thing you need from their make-up line, it's their eyeshadows. Extremely creamy, dense and pigmented, these shadows are a winner. 

These eyeshadows are best when applied with your finger in my opinion, and they provide sparkle and glam without too much fall-out. 

The texture and consistency is amazing, like a bouncy, squishy clay.

Ardell Lashes in "120 Demi Black" ($4.97)

These were my all time favourite lashes to wear almost every single day when I began wearing falsies. They are extremely light and the band for Ardell lashes are usually fairly thin, so they don't irritate my eyes.

They are voluminous without being too crazy, and blend well with my short asian lashes. Lately I've been disliking wearing full lashes, so these work great being cut in half and then used as corner lashes.

L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara ($9.96)

I've mentioned this product in my Top 10 Mascaras You Need to Try post, and it is still one of my favourites that I use daily. Because I only wear corner lashes now, my other lashes definitely still need an oomph to blend in with my corner falsies. 

The brush for the Miss Manga mascara has little bristles that work great for picking up every lash and coating it nicely without clumping. This mascara is great for those who want length.

Revlon Precision Lash Adhesive ($7)

This is the BEST eyelash glue I've ever used. So far. I've only tried two eyelash glues in my life. The Duo one that's very popular, and this one. This one beats the Duo lash glue by a long shot, and it's fairly cheaper too. With this lash glue you don't have to wait as long for the glue to get tacky, and it stays on literally all day. I can take a nap with my falsies and they are still in the same position when I wake up. The one thing I dislike about this product though is the stupid long brush. It is precise because it's thin and long, but it gets super messy, as you can see in my picture. The glue eventually comes out every time you pull and push the brush back in the tube. Otherwise, it's an awesome eyelash glue. 

Essence Lash and Brow Gel Mascara ($4)

Definitely not the best brow gel I've used, but the best for under $10. The gel (is suppose to be clear but I've used it so much it's become a gross colour haha) is very thin, but not too liquidy that it would smear your eyebrows. A little goes a long way with this product and it does a pretty decent job keeping your eyebrows in place. 

You may have noticed I didn't include an eyeliner under $10 .. well because I couldn't find a good one that I loved under that price! Any recommendations?

When I started to fall in love with make-up, buying cheap, affordable drug store make-up was my thing. I was too young and naive to know about the high end make-up world, and being able to purchase what I needed at a great price was how I was able to first grow my collection up until today. Now that I'm more comfortable with using all types of make-up products, I gear myself towards higher end brands, and occasionally jump back to drug store make-up when I find something I love. Drug store make-up was always my first love, and I will always turn to it when my pockets are sad and my heart needs filling. Today I will be sharing with you my favourite/best face products under $10. Yes you heard that right, all these products can be purchased for under $10! (Canadian, hehe) Now it was a hard challenge for me to find a great product under $10, since make-up has risen in price, and usually some products are pretty crappy the lower the price. Not these ones. These are products I use everyday and would repurchase over and over again. 

Best Face Products Under $10

Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Pressed Powder ($7.96)

Out of all the drug store pressed powders I have ever tried, this is my holy grail. I go back to it constantly because it's affordable, and it works. For about $8 at Walmart, this product is an absolute steal. It controls my oily complexion for hours and the range of shades is quite amazing. I did a full review on this and the whole Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless line a few months ago, if you're interested in seeing my thoughts on the concealer and foundation as well.

A well loved product!

Flower Beauty Lighten Up! Brightening Concealer (BC2) ($8.98)

The Flower Beauty Concealer has been my go to under eye concealer for the past 6 months. It's super creamy and I never had trouble with creasing or being able to blend it under my eyes. It definitely does brighten up your under eye area which is awesome. The downside to this product is the fact that it's the twist up concealer. I feel like I always end up using more product than I should, and I go through these concealer tubes way faster than any other concealer I've ever used.

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation ($5.97)

I've done a full review on this foundation before if you're interested in reading more into what the foundation is like. This is my current foundation and I love it. Before this I was using my Motives Custom Blend Foundation, which can be pretty pricey depending on your skin needs and what not. I love that this foundation is under $10 and it leaves my skin looking matte and flawless.  

Maybelline Baby Skin Primer ($9.96)

Probably the most challenging face product for me to find under $10 but I did it. Many people hate the silicone feeling of Maybelline Baby Skin, but I feel like it's the only drug store primer that works for me and fills in my pores. I have really disgusting, shitty pores, and I need whatever I can to fill them up. This product does the job, without making my skin feel oily or too slick.

My Favourite MAC Products

One of my favourite brands to photograph has always been MAC. It must be the simplicity in the packaging, or the curves of each product. Anyways, I thought "what would be more fitting than a favourite MAC products post". So, here we are. These are products I would repurchase over and over again in a heart beat (minus one being limited edition).

My Favourite MAC Products

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in "Medium Deep"

By the way, I used a mini stapler to help keep this compact up haha. Being an oily skinned girl, finishing powders are my best friend. The Mac Mineralize Skinfinish sits at the top as being one of my all time favourite finishing powders. It leaves my skin looking matte without being too cakey, and it looks completely natural. 

I've been using the same compact for maybe.. 2 years now? Don't really know the shelf life for this product, but it seems to work fine til this day. A little sure does go a long way.

A bit on the pricey side than most powders I know, but for the amount of time I've been using it, it's totally worth it.

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer in "NC35"

I really need to figure out a new set up for taking pictures, because I really hate how yellow this concealer looks. It's really more nude beige in person. I've actually been in the market for a new concealer, and wanted to try a new one from MAC, but my cousin told me that the pro longwear is the best from them. I couldn't agree more. This concealer is amazing in so many ways. It works great for the under eye area because it doesn't crease, and it lives up to its "longwear" name. I only use this concealer on my pimples and blemishes, and it does a great job blending into my foundation and looking completely natural. It has medium coverage that is quite buildable. You can always add more and it'll never get too dry or caked up.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in "C4.5"

Once again, this foundation is more nude beige in person with a hint of pink undertones, so don't let the picture fool you, I'm not that yellow in real life! This was my all time favourite foundation to wear for the summer last year, and it's absolutely amazing. Not only is it one of my favourite MAC products, it's one of my favourite products of all time. I use this foundation for days I want to look super flawless because of it's buildable coverage formula. It leaves my skin looking beautiful and matte, and has a pretty long lasting power for about 6+ hours on a good day. 

My Favourite MAC Lipsticks

I wish I could of put all my MAC lipsticks on here, but there's just too many. I love photographing MAC lipsticks. So simple, yet each shade is just as amazing as the next. 

MAC Heroine (matte finish), Syrup (lustre finish), and Kelly Yum Yum (satin finish)

I love wearing MAC Heroine every season of the year. It's the lipstick that screams "hey look at me, I'm awesome" with it's super vibrant purple flare.

Syrup is the more quiet shade, very natural, very subtle. A simple muted pink/brown that would work for many skin tones. 

Now Kelly Yum Yum is a vibrant hot pink that screams for attention. My go to summer shade last year. Being limited edition, it isn't available for purchase anymore, but it's fraternal twin "Candy Yum Yum" is in MAC's permanent line. I fell in love with the purple packaging from the Kelly Osborne make-up line so I had to pick up this lipstick.

I love that MAC has a huge line of lipsticks with different types of finishes, yet the formulation is always consistent with their lipsticks. I don't know one person who has a MAC lipstick they didn't like (or maybe I just haven't run into that person yet).

Top 5 Liquid Lipsticks

I'm so excited for you guys to dig into this post of mine today, because it took me forever to get all the pictures, so I hope you love it! Yes, it will be a picture heavy post! (My fav!) As many of us beauty lovers out there know, near the end of 2014 to now 2015 has definitely been about the liquid lipstick. Liquid lipsticks are amazing in so many ways. The easy application, the long wear, the colour pay-off. This is one trend I am following and one I am definitely in love with. Today I will be talking to you guys about my top 5 favourite liquid lipsticks. I have a few drugstore and a few higher end ones so anyone can easily enjoy these awesome products! 

My Top 5 Liquid Lipsticks

I'm glad I pulled out my photo light box for this photoshoot because it made such a huge difference. This was my first time using my light box with my new camera. If you're interested in making your own light box for photography, I made a video a couple months ago that you can definitely check out if you have the time! I chose these 5 products because they were my favourites out of each brand, and also they all have one strong point in why I love them. I'll go into detail about each brand as well!

Rimmel Provocalips 16 Hour Kiss Proof Lip Colour in "Play with Fire"

If you're looking for an affordable drug store liquid lipstick, you MUST get your hands on this. For $8-10, I don't know how Rimmel has done it, but this stuff does not budge all day. The colour is extremely opaque, and it isn't drying because you can set it with the lip balm applicator. 

On the lips:

Pros: It lasts all day! You can eat even the greasiest food and it won't go anywhere.

Cons: There's only 10 shades, and a lot of them aren't that great. I hope they plan to expand the line!

Full face:

L'oreal Infallible Pro Last Lip Colour in "Neverending Nutmeg"

Similar to the Rimmel Provocalips, this liquid lipstick has the same concept with the lip balm applicator included. These ones run a bit more pricier than the Rimmel, $13-14, but has the same amazing all day wear. 

On the lips:

Did I tell you how much I adore this colour? It's such a pretty mauve/pink. I feel like it's almost grey that it makes me look kind of dead, but I don't care, I love it. 

Pros: Lasts all day. Has a huge variety of shades.

Cons: If you over apply this product it can separate or start to flake, so be careful! A little goes a long way!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in "Melted Candy"

This was actually the first liquid lipstick I owed surprisingly. From the last time I remember wearing this lipstick, it looked a lot more coral in my Too Faced Cosmetics Brand Spotlight post. These liquified lipsticks come in 18 different shades for $25 each. I believe they are also coming out with a new line of shades that are metallic too!

On the lips:

I guess the lighting in my old room was way yellow/orange, which threw off the true colour of the lipstick. Surprisingly, I love this lip colour even more now! I'm usually not a huge fan of magentas and bright/vibrant pinks, but this one looks awesome. I like how it makes me look a bit more tanned too!

Pros: Very comfortable on the lips, easy to apply with squeeze tube and precision tip applicator.

Cons: Takes very long to fully dry. 

Full face:

I will definitely be seeing this shade more in the Spring/Summer!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in "Fiery"

I think this one has got to be my most favourite out of all of them. It isn't the best formula wise, but it's the best feeling on your lips. It dries super fast without sucking out the moisture, and it stays on all day. The Stila liquid lipsticks run for $29 and come in 10 beautiful shades. 

 On the lips:

 Rimmel's "Play with fire" is a perfect dupe for this shade. If you're not willing to splurge on this one, you always have an equally as good, cheaper alternative! 

Pros: Dries instantly, feels amazing on your lips.

Cons: Pretty pricey! I want to collect all the shades but at that price, maybe not.

Full face:

How can you not love that shade though? In person I feel that Stila's "Fiery" comes off as a more deep blood red than a bright red like Rimmel's "Play with fire". Still close enough that it could be a dupe!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in "Vintage"

Available in 20 stunning shades for $20 each, these were the most sought out liquid lipstick everywhere on the internet. Everyone wanted and still wants to get their hands on these babies. To be honest, they are super opaque and gorgeous, but not very long lasting. You can see my full review and the other shades I picked up here.

On the lips:

Pros: Very vibrant, opaque colour.

Cons: Takes long to completely dry, a bit of difficulty applying on nicely. Does not last when you're eating/drinking.

Full face:

Love how vibrant purple "vintage" is. I feel like it's a very similar shade to MAC's "heroine".

In this photo you can see that Stila "fiery" is a tad darker than Rimmel's "play with fire. L'oreal's "neverending nutmeg" almost looks similar to Lime Crime's "cashmere". Rimmel and L'oreal were the two quickest drying, followed by Stila, Anastasia, and Too Faced being last. I can't really say that Stila is the best, because they all have good and bad qualities about each of them. They're all amazing in their own way, and it's all up to what you're looking for in a liquid lipstick!
