Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Review (Chocolate)

I've never been much of a brow person since I started liking make-up. I always felt like my brows were fine the way they were. I never plucked my brows to the point they were thin lines, and I always had a natural arched brow. My brows are super full and bushy with long hair. So what is my reasoning for purchasing this product? 

I never realized how important brows were and how much they contributed to how your face looks. When I fill in my brows, I feel like I look more complete. It's a weird thing to say, but that's how I truly feel haha. I recently made the jump to try this brow product since its been a holy grail to many. 

With the help of a kind Sephora associate, she helped me pick out the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Chocolate. My original choice was dark brown or ash brown, but she suggested this one. She told me that I barely needed to touch my brush into the pot, as the product was very pigmented. A light hand was the trick to getting enough colour. 

I've never been good at filling in my brows, I personally think it's one of my weakest points of make-up application. I honestly don't know how girls make their eyebrows look all fancy with the fades, so I don't even bother. I just use the product to fill in my eyebrows so the hairs don't look all spaced out and sparse.

It's not a huge change, but you can see my eyebrows look more full and filled in. The verdict? I love this product. It definitely takes some practice to get the right amount of product, but I found it easier to use than my previous eyebrow pencils or eyebrow powders. With the #12 brush from Anastasia as well, I was able to get precise clean lines!

Top 5 Liquid Lipsticks

I'm so excited for you guys to dig into this post of mine today, because it took me forever to get all the pictures, so I hope you love it! Yes, it will be a picture heavy post! (My fav!) As many of us beauty lovers out there know, near the end of 2014 to now 2015 has definitely been about the liquid lipstick. Liquid lipsticks are amazing in so many ways. The easy application, the long wear, the colour pay-off. This is one trend I am following and one I am definitely in love with. Today I will be talking to you guys about my top 5 favourite liquid lipsticks. I have a few drugstore and a few higher end ones so anyone can easily enjoy these awesome products! 

My Top 5 Liquid Lipsticks

I'm glad I pulled out my photo light box for this photoshoot because it made such a huge difference. This was my first time using my light box with my new camera. If you're interested in making your own light box for photography, I made a video a couple months ago that you can definitely check out if you have the time! I chose these 5 products because they were my favourites out of each brand, and also they all have one strong point in why I love them. I'll go into detail about each brand as well!

Rimmel Provocalips 16 Hour Kiss Proof Lip Colour in "Play with Fire"

If you're looking for an affordable drug store liquid lipstick, you MUST get your hands on this. For $8-10, I don't know how Rimmel has done it, but this stuff does not budge all day. The colour is extremely opaque, and it isn't drying because you can set it with the lip balm applicator. 

On the lips:

Pros: It lasts all day! You can eat even the greasiest food and it won't go anywhere.

Cons: There's only 10 shades, and a lot of them aren't that great. I hope they plan to expand the line!

Full face:

L'oreal Infallible Pro Last Lip Colour in "Neverending Nutmeg"

Similar to the Rimmel Provocalips, this liquid lipstick has the same concept with the lip balm applicator included. These ones run a bit more pricier than the Rimmel, $13-14, but has the same amazing all day wear. 

On the lips:

Did I tell you how much I adore this colour? It's such a pretty mauve/pink. I feel like it's almost grey that it makes me look kind of dead, but I don't care, I love it. 

Pros: Lasts all day. Has a huge variety of shades.

Cons: If you over apply this product it can separate or start to flake, so be careful! A little goes a long way!

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in "Melted Candy"

This was actually the first liquid lipstick I owed surprisingly. From the last time I remember wearing this lipstick, it looked a lot more coral in my Too Faced Cosmetics Brand Spotlight post. These liquified lipsticks come in 18 different shades for $25 each. I believe they are also coming out with a new line of shades that are metallic too!

On the lips:

I guess the lighting in my old room was way yellow/orange, which threw off the true colour of the lipstick. Surprisingly, I love this lip colour even more now! I'm usually not a huge fan of magentas and bright/vibrant pinks, but this one looks awesome. I like how it makes me look a bit more tanned too!

Pros: Very comfortable on the lips, easy to apply with squeeze tube and precision tip applicator.

Cons: Takes very long to fully dry.

I will definitely be seeing this shade more in the Spring/Summer!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in "Fiery"

I think this one has got to be my most favourite out of all of them. It isn't the best formula wise, but it's the best feeling on your lips. It dries super fast without sucking out the moisture, and it stays on all day. The Stila liquid lipsticks run for $29 and come in 10 beautiful shades. 

 On the lips:

 Rimmel's "Play with fire" is a perfect dupe for this shade. If you're not willing to splurge on this one, you always have an equally as good, cheaper alternative! 

Pros: Dries instantly, feels amazing on your lips.

Cons: Pretty pricey! I want to collect all the shades but at that price, maybe not.

Full face:

How can you not love that shade though? In person I feel that Stila's "Fiery" comes off as a more deep blood red than a bright red like Rimmel's "Play with fire". Still close enough that it could be a dupe!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in "Vintage"

Available in 20 stunning shades for $20 each, these were the most sought out liquid lipstick everywhere on the internet. Everyone wanted and still wants to get their hands on these babies. To be honest, they are super opaque and gorgeous, but not very long lasting. You can see my full review and the other shades I picked up here.

On the lips:

Pros: Very vibrant, opaque colour.

Cons: Takes long to completely dry, a bit of difficulty applying on nicely. Does not last when you're eating/drinking.

Full face:

Love how vibrant purple "vintage" is. I feel like it's a very similar shade to MAC's "heroine".

In this photo you can see that Stila "fiery" is a tad darker than Rimmel's "play with fire. L'oreal's "neverending nutmeg" almost looks similar to Lime Crime's "cashmere". Rimmel and L'oreal were the two quickest drying, followed by Stila, Anastasia, and Too Faced being last. I can't really say that Stila is the best, because they all have good and bad qualities about each of them. They're all amazing in their own way, and it's all up to what you're looking for in a liquid lipstick!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks Review (Pure Hollywood, Vintage and Vamp)

Here we are, with the most anticipated product review probably of 2015. This is my full review on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks. Let me just tell you the struggle I went through to purchase these. They were released online about 2 weeks ago at 12am PST. That meant 3am my time. Oh my god. This was the longest and most stressful shopping trip I've ever done. I've gone Black Friday shopping before and bought tickets online to a music festival called VELD, and it wasn't that bad. The website refused to load because thousands of people were trying to get on at the same time. It took me an hour and 45 minutes to put every single lipstick in my shopping cart and then checkout. No, no, it didn't take me an hour and 45 minutes for 3 lipsticks. I had to put 7 in my cart because I was buying it for my cousin too. Oh, the torture. BUT. WORTH. THE. WAIT.

I only purchased three lipsticks because I wanted to try out the formula first, and a lot of the other colours didn't appeal to me that much. Once I started seeing them more on other skin types and such, ughhhh I'm kicking myself for not picking up more! Shipping is pretty expensive to Canada ($17), so get someone to purchase with you and split the shipping! 

A few things about these lipsticks. They feel extremely good on my lips. Not drying what so ever. Probably the lightest and most featherweight formula of liquid lipstick I've worn! One thing I didn't like though, it takes quite a while to dry completely. Compared to other liquid lipsticks I've tried that dry in about a minute (look out for other reviews soon), these liquid lipsticks still transfer a bit even once they're dried. I timed it to about 10-15 minutes for the middle of my lips to be completely dry, but I kept kissing my hand and it still transferred around the edges. Oh well, these lipsticks don't claim to be nontransferable anyways. Once fully "dried", the liquid lipsticks don't make it feel like they've sucked the life out of my lips at all! 

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Pure Hollywood

 The most anticipated liquid lipstick colour from the collection. I'm pretty sure almost everyone who purchased any of these picked up this colour too.  I see why. It's such a pretty nude/pink colour. I was a little apprehensive on this colour because even though it's so nice, I feel like I look bad in really nude colours. Lucky for me, this colour is AWESOME.

Swatch:

I did a pretty horrible job applying the colour, and over drawing my lips, but you get the point. One thing I need to mention is, remember to moisturize your lips before wearing this. It definitely accentuates your dry spots. 

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Vintage

 This one is my favourite of the 3 that I purchased. The colour is absolutely vibrant. It reminds me of Lime Crime's Pansy. It's such a gorgeous, bright, purple. 

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Vamp

I was excited to buy this colour when I thought it was more of a deep red shade. When I saw swatches of it on other people I realized it was more brown and that disappointed me. BUT, once I put it on, I fell in love. 

Vamp is definitely a very brown/burgundy/red. It's similar to the colour "wicked" from Lime Crime, but leaning towards red than brown.

I'm definitely going to be picking up more shades once I'm not super broke. These lipsticks go for $20 each on anastasiabeverlyhills.com, and shipping is like $17 bucks, so they're kind of pricey.

The Top 6 Bronzers

Summer is around the corner, and everyone wants to have a sunkissed tan. Why not get a head start this year and find the best bronzer for you? Today's post is about my top favourite bronzers! I'm super stoked to write this post because I LOVE bronzers. Besides lipsticks, I love trying new bronzers and having a huge collection of all types of bronzers I don't need. When I don't contour my face on any given day, I feel so bland and incomplete. Bronzer is my best friend, and it also keeps my face from looking too round or too flat; because thats what best friends do right?

To start the post off, man I had a hard time finding a way to photograph all the bronzers in the same picture. The packaging for all these are so oblong they look so weird next to each other. 6. WET N WILD Color Icon Bronzer SPF 15 - Ticket to Brazil

Before I became obsessed with make-up, this was my first bronzer I ever owned (besides the discontinued healthy glow bronzer by elf). I never understood the concept of contouring your face, or adding dimension to your face, until I was introduced into the world of make-up. This was my favourite drug store bronzer, and actually the only drugstore bronzer I've ever used haha. 

5. The Balm Cosmetics Bahama Mama Bronzer

I was introduced to theBalm first when I watched a make-up video and the girl was using theBalm Nude Tude Palette. I instantly fell in love with the quirky packaging. I was able to purchase this bronzer from Hautelook, my favourite website to get discounted make-up. The slender and sleek packaging for the bronzer makes it so convenient to carry around. The bronzer itself is an amazing matte brown and is perfect for contouring your nose.

4. Too Faced Custom Blend Beach Bunny Bronzer

This is probably going to be the bronzer I grab the most this summer. The Too Faced Beach Bunny bronzer is the perfect glowy summer tan you are looking for. It was featured in my Too Faced Cosmetics Brand Spotlight post, which I think I put up one or two weeks ago. The bronzer is four separate gold/brown colours that you swirl together to make a beautiful golden tan. If you're not a fan of shimmer, this may not work for you, but it definitely gives you a summer glow. 

3. Guerlain Terracotta Bronzing Powder in Ebony (08)

Probably the most expensive and luxurious bronzer I own, the Guerlain bronzer is super pigmented and awesome. I got the darkest shade (ebony) because I feel if you contour your face, its best to get a shade a lot darker than your skin tone of course so it could be used to hollow out your cheeks, or create that shadow on your temples. Would I say this is worth the money? Absolutely! Its pricey because it works.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Probably the most sought out contour kit currently, the Anastasia Contour Kit lives up to its expectations. All the shades in this palette are pigmented and the bronzers are PERFECT. I would call this palette number one in contouring kits but then again I haven't used any other one. 

In the kit I use the two bronzers on the left. I don't use the bottom right one because as you can see, it is very orange. The bottom left one is great for contouring your temples and your cheeks, and the middle one is great for contouring your nose. Benefit Hoola Bronzer

When you look at the picture on the Sephora website that I linked, the bronzer looks super light, but it is not even close to that colour. The Hoola bronzer is a matte, muddy (in a good way) brown that is the all around best bronzer I have ever used in my life. I also featured it in my Favourite Products of All Time (Face) post. Everyone raves about this product and there is a reason why. It is one of the most perfect matte bronzers out there.

The Guerlain one is definitely one of the darker bronzers, and the lightest appears to be the Benefit Hoola bronzer.
