Becca x Jacyln Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Review + Swatches

Sometimes, it pays to check your social media often. I was so lucky to be checking my Snapchat the other day, when Jaclyn Hill was at her pre-launch party with Sephora and Becca Cosmetics. She announced that she asked Becca's permission to pre-release a small amount of palettes through Sephora's mobile app. I rarely watch snaps, but that one day I decided, why not. Super lucky considering I really wanted this palette! I was on the fence on purchasing a full sized Champagne Pop, and I'm so glad I waited. Now I have a palette that has a bunch of gorgeous products all in one!

Introducing the Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette. The new champagne collection also includes a liquid champagne pop, a poured creme champagne pop, and an eyeshadow palette.

The attention to detail for the packaging is phenomenal. I love anything that's gold and white, absolutely stunning. 

The packaging definitely screams "Jaclyn Hill", with the pretty, feminine, elegant touch.

The palette came with a protective film over the front because the top is made of a gel like material. When you press your nail down into it, it bounces back up in a couple seconds. Probably going to be prone to getting dirty, which is a shame. 

I would of gotten a review out like 3 days ago when I received it, but I just moved into my new home so I didn't have time to photograph anything. 

I have heart eyes over this palette. Probably one of the most gorgeous palettes I own. The palette comes with 3 blushes and 2 highlighters. I absolutely adore the palette itself. The mirror is huge and bends back pretty far, allowing you to hold it easily in your hands to apply make-up. Great palette to travel with! 

Rose Spritz is a a fun peachy pink with gold shimmer. This one is the luminous blush.

Amaretto is a matte toasted almond shade, that comes off a bit orange.

Pamplemousse is a pretty warm bright pink. Both Amaretto and Pamplemousse are mineral blushes, with a slight sheen to them. They're more satin than they are matte.

Champagne Pop is a stunningly beautiful white gold with a slight peach/pink undertone.

Prosecco Pop is a medium warm gold that will add the perfect touch of glam to your look.

Mixing the two highlighters together creates a gorgeous warm gold, slightly bronze shade.

Lets just say, this palette needs to be on your wishlist. The blushes are extremely pigmented, and the highlighters are brighter than our futures. LOL. The shades are great on their own, or even mixed together, to create your own glam look. Get your bank accounts ready for May 26th, because this palette will be a great addition to your make-up collection.

Maybelline Master Contour By Facestudio Contouring Kit Review + Swatches (Medium to Deep)

When I find a favourite product, it's always hard for me to try and test something new. But when you think about it, how exactly would you find a favourite product unless you tried it in the first place? Today I will be reviewing the Maybelline Master Contour By Facestudio Contouring Kit in Medium to Deep.

I love the idea of having 3 face products in one, which makes this product a great travelling item. Pro. The Maybelline Contour Kit comes in two shades. I chose medium to deep since I do prefer a darker bronzer shade. 

If you don't know how to contour and highlight, the kit does come with instructions on the back, which can be quite helpful.

The brush that it comes with is practically impractical. It's too flimsy to be used for the bronzer, and it's not big enough for the blush. It works okay for the highlight, but you might as well use your own brushes if you have them.

The colour payoff for the powders is pretty good. The bronzer is quite nice, despite being too orange toned for my liking. I thought I loved the blush, but if you look closely, it has some gold flecks in it. Not a huge fan of that. The highlight is a nice champagne colour and works best when you use less. 

I wasn't a huge fan of the blush because of the extra gold shimmer, it just looked really tacky on me. The best product out of the trio in my opinion was the bronzer. I don't find it to be a good contour shade, but it worked great for adding some colour to my face. Personally, this product is pass to me. I feel like there isn't anything special about it. I find that you find better quality in higher end bronzers/blushes/highlighters. Trying all these make-up products, I feel that some make-up products, you can't skimp on quality and just go with drugstore because it's cheaper. You can definitely tell the difference between a cheaper bronzer and a higher end bronzer. Face products in my opinion, are usually best when they are higher end.

H&M Beauty Pure Radiance Powder Blusher Review + Swatches (Apricot)

We are back at it again with another H&M Beauty Department review. This time, I will be reviewing the Pure Radiance Powder Blusher. 

I'm in love with the shape of the compact. I only wish that they used a heavier material, or added a mirror, because the compact itself feels like a toy. It's so light and feels rather cheap. 

The shade itself is a pretty soft/coral pink.

Very bright, bit a little powdery. 

The shade goes on nicely, and is barely noticeable on my medium shade skin.

It adds a nice little flush to my cheeks, without being too overbearing.

Motives Boxed Beauty Palette Review + Swatches

I'm going to get ahead of the game and start with awesome Christmas gift ideas for this years holiday season. Today I will be reviewing the Motives Cosmetics Boxed Beauty Palette.

This palette is super sleek and affordable ($37) for travellers who want to pack light, or for young girls, or anyone starting to get into make-up. It makes a great starter palette and Christmas gift. 

It comes with a great size mirror, 6 eyeshadows and 2 blushes. The shades are quite versatile to create day and night looks. 

You also get a little blush brush and sponge tip applicator for the eyeshadows. I would probably recommend getting the person you'd be buying this real brushes though, since these aren't the best brushes to use.

Now compared to the disappointing The Present by Scott Barnes for Motives Cosmetics Palette, the pigmentation for these products are WAY better. It's not too powdery that it would flake off, and the colour payoff is outstanding. A little definitely goes a long way since the colour shows up so well. The left blush would also make a great highlighter. 

The eyeshadows: 

These colours are absolutely gorgeous. Now if you're more of a matte eyeshadow person, then this palette is not for you. All the colours have a gorgeous shimmer to them. The only colour that kind of sucked was the white one, which didn't show up very well. My favourite would probably be the first shade on the left, which looks like a beautiful champagne colour, and the deep chocolate brown. 

Recommended for fall and winter, these shades are the perfect gift for the make-up lover, or make-up newbie in your life.

The Present By Scott Barnes for Motives Review

When I first saw this product on my mom's vanity, I thought to myself "I must have it!" It's such a brilliant way to have an everything palette compacted into one tiny little present. Was it well executed though? Let us break it down. 

Today I will be doing a review on the The Present By Scott Barnes for Motives. Now this is no where near a new and innovative product. It's been out for a few years now, and being a make-up hoarder, I just found it in my collection haha. Have I ever used it? Nope, just swatched a few of the colours. 

What "the present" really is, is a compact, stacked, all-in-one make-up palette with a variety of shades and colours, to create many looks. 

The one that I will be reviewing is called "Smokey Nights".

Here it is in all its glory. It's very small that you can throw in your purse, but not flat enough to have in your make-up bag. 

It even comes with a mirror on the lid! They really came up with everything didn't they.

The eyeshadow quad:

To be honest, these eyeshadows were pretty disappointing. It took a lot of vigorous rubbing (not in that way you perv) to get a good swatch out of each of them, and the only one that really showed up the best was the copper/orange shade.

Now I don't see why they would give you 4 different concealer shades, because in reality, only one of them is going to work for your skin. I guess this was the only way they could make this palette work for all skin types, but it's really just a waste of concealers that won't be used. It would be understandable if you were a make-up artist or something and this was in your kit, then all the colours would come in handy. The concealers were really nice though, very smooth and melted to the touch. Super creamy and didn't crease much besides the lightest peach shade.

Again with the powdery-ness and lack of pigmentation. I really think it has something to do with the design on the powders. It was difficult to get a nice clean swatch without having to go over it with my finger a few times to get good colour pay off.

The Translucent Powder:

For a translucent powder, it still came off very white, which led me to think that this would leave a terrible white cast on my skin.

I was actually surprised to find out that these were lip glosses and not lip creams/lipsticks. They colour for these were very nice, but they were a bit sticky/tacky, but to be expected. 

Overall, Motives had a great idea for a product, but it wasn't that well executed. I felt the powders (eyeshadows, blushes, powder) could have been made better, or maybe it was the design on the powder that threw it all off. Otherwise, it's actually a great idea, and would be a wonderful "present" for those looking to start trying make-up, or who want an all-in-one palette.
