H&M Beauty True Matte Finishing Powder Review (Warm Beige)

Getting to the end of my overhaul of H&M products, we finish off with a type of product I use on a daily basis. Finishing powders are an oily skinned girl's best friend. I had super high hopes that this product would be awesome for me, and well, it was just.. okay. 

Again we get to the price point. $12.99 is pretty awesome for a finishing powder, but is that price a little steep for a product that doesn't offer anything different from other drug store brands? 

For a shade called "warm beige" it came off very light and a bit chalky. 

It blended into my skin nicely, but it didn't have the staying power of other finishing powders I've owned. It sets my make-up, but it doesn't keep me from getting oily throughout the day. I guess this product would work for those with combination skin. I think dry skinned folks would have an issue with the chalky look. Again, this isn't a wow-ing product to me, so it's nothing cool or different from other drug store powders I own.

H&M Beauty Pure Radiance Powder Blusher Review + Swatches (Apricot)

We are back at it again with another H&M Beauty Department review. This time, I will be reviewing the Pure Radiance Powder Blusher. 

I'm in love with the shape of the compact. I only wish that they used a heavier material, or added a mirror, because the compact itself feels like a toy. It's so light and feels rather cheap. 

The shade itself is a pretty soft/coral pink.

Very bright, bit a little powdery. 

The shade goes on nicely, and is barely noticeable on my medium shade skin.

It adds a nice little flush to my cheeks, without being too overbearing.

H&M Beauty Cream Lip Colour Review (Candy Apple)

How could a lipstick look so absolutely perfect? Literally. 

H&M Beauty has sold me on packaging, minus the feeling of the lightweight plastic. The lipstick in the tube itself looked absolutely flawless, how could I possibly ruin it? 

As you may have figured, today's review will be on the H&M's new Beauty Department Cream Lip Colour in the shade "Candy Apple".

It almost looks like a toy lipstick. 

Why must you deceive me lipstick? The shade was nothing like a candy apple colour. It was more of a coral red than anything really. 

The colour went on very smoothly, but I wasn't that big of a fan of the shade. Very creamy, and does live up to the "cream" texture. The lipstick is very vibrant, and I had no trouble achieving full coverage within one swatch. 

I am not the biggest fan of this super creamy lipstick, but I will be trying their matte lipsticks instead.

H&M Beauty Eye Colour Palette Review in Smoky Nudes

With H&M's new Beauty Department, we could only really hope for the best with their huge line of products. It's insane that they released over 700 beauty products for their department all at once. The question is, are the products worth spending your bucks on? Well, that's why I'll be reviewing a range of products from the Beauty Department by H&M. 

Today I will be reviewing one of the many eyeshadow palettes H&M released. I got the chance to try out the Smoky Nudes palette. 

Coincidentally, nude palettes are all the rage for me, and literally the only types of palettes I enjoy wearing. I do have the occasional crazy or vibrant eyeshadow palette, but those are rarely touched. For $12.99, you get 9 eyeshadows. Mostly matte, with a glittery one and maybe one or two satin/shimmery ones. 

For the price you're paying, the colour payoff on this palette is pretty good. The only shade that was disappointing was the glitter one, which wasn't a surprise. A lot of fall out on that one, but the other shades were wonderful. Very pigmented for such a low price. My favourite has got to be the mauve/pale purple shade (third from the left) and the chocolate shade beside it.

Overall, you're getting pretty good quality for a low price. I could see myself easily picking up an eyeshadow palette while shopping for cute outfits from H&M. They definitely are getting the big bucks if they keep up the great work in their new beauty department. Now we can buy brand new outfit, along with make-up products to complete the look.

New H&M Beauty Department Haul + Swatches

I'm excited. Are you excited? Behold. H&M now has a BEAUTY DEPARTMENT! If you're from Toronto, H&M's new beauty department at the Toronto Eaton Centre has opened up on September 17th, and apparently, it is absolutely gorgeous! 

H&M will be offering 700 (wow) beauty products that include: make-up, haircare, body care, beauty tools, a premium line and a conscious line. They basically released anything related to beauty all at once! Amazing! 

I got the wonderful opportunity to receive and test out some of the make-up products in their new beauty department. Let me just say, everything looks quite chic and modern. Excuse the crappy background, I have been struggling with finding the perfect backdrop for my photos, and went with an off white scarf this time haha.

I find it amazing that they were able to launch so many products at the same time, so lets hope that the quality wasn't overlooked while they were working on all these new items. 

I think the packaging is very cute, chic and has a modern twist to it, which was what H&M was going for. They also plan to have seasonal and limited edition shade releases throughout the seasons, which is a nice edition to their regular line of products. I think one turn off that some people may have is the feel of the packaging. Yes, it looks very elegant and modern, but it feels a BIT cheap. I expected some weight to the products but the packaging is just very light plastic, and almost feels toy like. It's the inside that counts though, right?

The prices are very reasonable, and just about the same as drug store make-up. H&M has always offered low prices for clothing, and for their beauty department we definitely can expect the same. From what I've seen in the little magazine I also received, I don't believe anything is over $20 (don't quote me on that, I'll update this once I receive the correct info).

Stay tuned for the next few weeks for full reviews of each of the products I received. I also will be trying to go downtown next Thursday to snap a few pics of the new H&M Beauty Department in the Toronto Eaton Centre. Maybe I'll also pick up a few more products! I have my eyes on some brushes, maybe body lotions and matte lipsticks. 

Currently, I think the new Beauty Department has launched in the UK, and is only available in the Toronto Eaton Centre. I don't think it's anywhere else in Canada, yet!

 As I hoped, the beauty department was absolutely stunning. The bright white fixtures and lights all around. Everything was absolutely perfect and still in place. Literally stocked to the brim with products.

Skincare and body care.

Eye products.

Nail polishes galore.

The seasons picks.

Missing is the lipstick display and the foundation display.
