MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection - Swatches and Review

I'm SO excited to show you what I picked up from the Alluring Aquatic collection. I went to Vaughan Mills yesterday morning right when they opened since May 22 was the release date for MAC stores and counters. I'm so happy I got there early because since I did my research prior, I knew what I wanted and I got out fast, before it got super busy. A lot of people have been waiting for this collection, not just because of the pretty shades, but the packaging.

Oh my god. The packaging for this collection is definitely one of the main reasons I went out of my way to pick these babies up. First of all, the shades and colours for this collection definitely remind you of summer, mermaids and an underwater world. The teal/aqua coloured packaging, with detailed water droplets; this is one limited edition collection that everyone needs to get.

Behold: MAC's Alluring Aquatic Collection
Isn't the packaging just gorgeous?! I can't get over how pretty it is. I'll probably be keeping these on top of my vanity for a while since they're just SO pretty.

MAC Alluring Aquatic Bronzing Powder in "Refined Golden" ($33)
I originally wanted one of the extra dimension bronzers, but the shade choices were either too light or too gold. This one is from the regular MAC line but was just redesigned and repackaged for this collection.

Up Close:
Refined golden is described as a finely spun golden with a soft pearl. If you look closely it has gold speckles! The other shade offered in the bronzing powders is called "Golden".

Swatch:
It is a very deep, dark orange brown. Great for bronzer for the summer. It looks fairly similar to Too Faced Beach Bunny Custom-Blend Bronzer which I talk about and review in my Too Faced Brand Spotlight post here. The difference between this one and the Beach Bunny one is that the beach bunny one is a lot more shimmery and gold, and this one is more matte. The gold speckles are not noticeable as it is in the pan.

MAC Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension Blush in "Sea Me, Hear Me" ($32.50)
I love the 3D design in the blush, it makes it extra stunning. The blush itself is a gorgeous beige pink, perfect for a natural summer flush.

Swatch:
This blush could probably compliment a lot of skin tones. Its not a super vibrant pink, and its perfect for the warmer weather. This collection has two blushes, "Seduced at Sea" which is a plum pink shade, and "Sea Me, Hear Me" which is the shade I purchased.

MAC Alluring Aquatic Extra Dimension Eyeshadow (Mini) in "Lorelei" ($22.50)
This is actually the first MAC eyeshadow that I have purchased, and I am so excited to try it! The eyeshadow itself is super rich and pigmented. The shade is very shimmery, a golden beige leaning towards a rose gold? Anyway, I LOVE IT. I feel like it could make a great golden highlight too!

Swatch:
When I swatch it, I feel like it looks a has a pink undertone which makes me feel like its leaning towards a rose gold, but it definitely looks gold beige in the pan. Regardless, it is gorgeous. I was planning to pick up all the eyeshadow shades because they are all so pretty, but I didn't want to be poor leaving the mall haha.

MAC Alluring Aquatic Collection in "Goddess of the Sea" and "Mystical" ($21)
Out of the lipsticks I picked up 2 of the 5. I originally wanted to pick up "Pet Me, Please" because in photos its such a gorgeous muted pale mauve, but when I swatched it in stores, it was super frosty. It would probably look so tacky on me. Anyway I got "Goddess of the Sea" (on the left) and "Mystical" (on the right).

Swatches:
Mystical (right) is described as a midtone creamy rose, and it is a cremesheen lipstick, so it is very moisturizing and a bit sheer. Goddess of the Sea (left) is described as a dark vibrant violet, and also is a cremesheen lipstick. Goddess of the Sea can almost be comparable to MAC's Rebel, except Goddess of the Sea is more plum and is more wearable for most looks than Rebel.

Here is a look I did using all the products except for Mystical. I chose to wear Goddess of the Sea instead.
I was hoping for Goddess of the Sea to appear more purple, but its pretty sheer so I packed on the colour in hopes it would be more vibrant.

I chose crazy lashes for this look, a little too crazy in my opinion.

I need to get better light sources, I look so orange.

Hey.
I'll list everything else I'm wearing on my face with this look.

One more shot of the collection because its just that pretty.
I just can't get over it. It's so pretty and it's one of my favourite and best purchases I've made to date. Who knew make-up could make a girl so giddy and happy LOL.

MAC's Alluring Aquatic Collection is a limited edition collection, and will be in stores for a limited time only! Get it before everything is gone!!
