August 2014 Ipsy Bag Review

Well I haven't been here in a while. For the past week or so, if you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, you would have seen that I have been super occupied lately with Veld and my mini family vacation. It is not an excuse for me not to post for over a week -_-. I know, I tell myself all the time to pre-schedule posts but that never happens. Oh well. I'm back on track now and with free time on my hands this week, I have a few blog posts already pre-scheduled! Now lets begin this awesome Ipsy bag review!

August 2014 Ipsy Bag
This months theme has to do with learning about beauty, and I guess it also has to do with the fact school is coming back soon, which makes me super sad.

The bag
I freaking love this months bag! Such a step up from the crap we got last month. I love the white with contrasting orange polka dots. So cute. I will definitely be using it as a pencil case! Unfortunately the bag was so squished during delivery I couldn't get it rounded out nicely for a picture in time, but I will probably fill it with paper balls so it keeps its shape.

I was hoping to get this mascara and I totally did! I love when Ipsy gives Urban Decay products in the Ipsy bags because I love every single one of them. This is the new mascara in the Urban Decay make-up line. I am actually going to be talking about this mascara in one of my next blog posts so stay tuned !

I am a lip balm girl probably 95% of the time, so lip balm is always a great product for me in Ipsy bags. I'm not a huge fan of lip balms where you have to stick your finger in it and apply, but this one smells like grape and looks super cute, I guess I will grow to like it.

I don't know if I did my math right with the value of this sample, but wow $11.25 for 0.25 fl oz? This product itself for a full size is $45 and the full size only has 1 fl oz. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong! I've used a Dr Brandt product from Ipsy before, I think, and I really did enjoy it. The sample size is good enough to get a few uses out of it so I am excited to use this. I've been using primers a lot lately and it makes such a huge difference in how my foundation looks.

Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Liner - Deluxe Sample ($1-2?)
This product was a bit disappointing because of the size, but since I don't use pencil liners quite often anymore, it will probably last me a while. I've heard great things about the brand Lord and Berry so I was happy to see it in my Ipsy bag.

Compared to others, I'm pretty happy with the size of these blushes. I have way too many blushes and it takes me forever to finish them. The colours are very pretty and swatch nicely. And a nice bonus is that you can get 25% off your purchase with the coupon code "blush25off"! Sweet.

Verdict:
Full Size Products: 1
Deluxe Size Products: 4
Samples: 0
Price for Bag: $10+tax/shipping=$16
Value of this months bag: $23.75
Mel's Rating: 3/5
Great!

Though the value of this months bag was significantly lower than last months bag, the products itself carries the weight of the bag, making it an awesome bag compared to the July one. The bag itself was super cute and it has brands I am familiar with and also new brands I am excited to try. Overall, the August Ipsy bag was a great success!
