I was happy to see that my cousin got me this palette for my birthday over a month ago. I mean, look at it. Who knew a make-up palette could be that beautiful? I was head over heels in love with my Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette (the first original one), so I knew I had to get this one too. Introducing the stunning Tarte Tartelette 2 In Bloom Palette.

Compared to the original Tartelette and this one, the Tartelette In Bloom offers both matte and luster eyeshadows, whereas the Tartelette original only had mattes.

A lot of the shades in the Tartelette 2 In Bloom palette are very warm toned as well.

Comparing with the previous Tartelette, the 2 offers a great variety of browns, bronzes, and gorgeous transition shades.

Charmer appears to be a very white shade, but in the palette it's more of an off white/eggshell white. The shadows in this palette aren't as chalky as other Tarte shadows I've tried. The pigmentation is phenomenal.
Jetsetter is a matte, silky, gorgeous light beige.
Rocker is a medium taupe with a bit of shimmer. The shimmer/luster shades definitely performed better than the mattes.
Smokeshow is a dark, dusty black/brown.

Flowerchild is a very pigmented warm peach shade.
Smart Pants is a very warm peachy/orange shade, that would work amazing as a transition colour.
Firecracker is a very shimmery bronze with warm brown undertones, and a hint of gold.
Activist came off very powdery, and a wee bit patchy. It can be described as a dark espresso shade.

Funny Girl was a very sheer white gold shade that was pigmented, but didn't have much coverage on its own.
Sweetheart is a pretty, matte peachy/pink.
Rebel is a very deep red/brown/terracotta shade.
Leader is a matte red/brown that came off a bit powdery, and if blended too much, became patchy.

Overall, the palette itself as a whole is amazing. The colours all work so well together, providing many looks. I love the shades in this palette, and the fact that it has both mattes and lusters is great as well.

I'm a huge fan of Tarte products, so there's no surprise that I enjoy this palette. It is for sure my go-to eyeshadow palette at the moment. This will be my holy grail for the rest of the Spring and Summer months!

Tarte Be MATTEnificent Palette Review

This blog post is like, beyond old and I just never got around to reviewing this product. I purchased this palette back in November, and when I first heard of the Be Mattenificent palette, I told myself I had to have it. I think I bought it with like a 20-25% off coupon that Tarte was having on their website, so I took the opportunity to finally get my hands on this.

This review is totally going to be underwhelming. Why you say? Because I'm not at all happy with this palette. I got this palette around the same time that I got the Tarte Tartelette Matte Eyeshadow Palette, which of course I did a review on, and let me just tell you, it doesn't compare to that one. Maybe if I didn't get the Tartelette palette, I probably would of liked this one more.

It's a very pinky/purple palette which I adore, but the pigmentation and formula fell flat on me for this palette. You can see a huge difference in the formula for this palette and the Tartelette. A lot of the lighter, pale, cream colours were extremely chalky and it wasn't very pigmented at all. You will expect a lot of fall out when you dip your brush in it.

While the Tartelette has 16 eyeshadows, this palette has 8 eyeshadows (2 being the "liners") and a blush, which is overall a great palette for on the go, and it comes with a nifty double ended eyeshadow brush.

The only good thing about this palette was the blush. Tarte blushes are always amazing, so it was no surprise the one in the palette would be good too. The only eyeshadow shade that came out rather nice was "two plums up" which is the deep plum shade. It's such a pretty dark purple. The other colours are kind of whatever to me. I'm sure I would of enjoyed this palette a lot more if I didn't have the Tartelette to compare it to. Overall it's an okay palette, but of course if you were on the market to buy a Tarte palette, go for the Tartelette.

Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette Review

I have a feeling this will be my favourite post of 2015, and we're only 12 days into the year! I heard amazing things about the Tartelette palette, and tried to buy it when it was first released on the Tarte website. Unfortunately for me it was already sold out before I got a chance to purchase it. Maybe about a month later it was released on the Sephora website, and I had to get my hands on it. Lucky for me, my cousin had a Sephora coupon code she wasn't using and I got this palette for $20 off! Thanks Amanda! You can check out her Youtube channel for beauty tutorials and vlogs here.

Behold: The Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette! (Wow that's a mouthful)

I love that the palette is small enough that I can hold it in one hand, but big enough that we are getting rather large eyeshadow pans full of awesome colours. It fits nicely into my make-up bags too!

Within this post I used two different cameras to take pictures. The first photo I used my Canon SX500 IS, and this one and the one below I used my new Sony RX100 M3. I can totally see a huge difference in quality and colour. Can you? Anywho, I absolutely love matte eyeshadows and I was happy to see Tarte come out with a permanent matte eyeshadow palette.

I love that this is a neutral/pink/purple palette. I'm a huge fan of wearing purples and neutrals.

I love that each row of 4 eyeshadows compliment each other so well for one eye look. Between these four shadows, I would have to say my favourite is "force of nature". It looks like a very pale pink/peach in the pan, but it comes off as a pink/coral colour when swatched. Definitely a great transition colour/crease colour for the Spring.

This is my favourite row of the whole palette. I love all the purple toned eyeshadows and how they are similar yet different. My favourite would have to be "natural beauty" and "bestfriend". "Natural Beauty" is a beautiful light brown/mauve, and "bestfriend" is a deep mauve/plum shade. Most people said the colour pay off of "bestfriend" wasn't good, but I still feel it showed off its colours real well. The shadows are pigmented and not chalky at all, compared to other Tarte palettes.

In this last row we have our neutrals that you can compare to most neutral palettes like the Urban Decay Naked Basics. Out of all the rows, these four colours seemed the most pigmented and vibrant. My favourite has got to be "power player", as it came off as a gorgeous taupe grey.

My eye look:

I'm not the best when it comes to eyeshadow application, but I'm definitely trying! Here I used "free spirit" all over my eyelid, "natural beauty" on the middle of my lid, "bestfriend" in my crease, and a little bit of "bombshell" in the outer corner. Eyeliner is L'oreal Infallible 24hr Gel Liner, lashes are an unknown brand I picked up from IMATS Toronto for $1, and eyebrows are filled in with Motives 3-in-1 eyebrow kit. I honestly hate my eyebrows and how I fill them in, but I'm working on that.

Will you be picking up this eyeshadow palette?

Tarte Bon Voyage Collectors Set Review

Are you just as excited about Christmas as I am? The moment it hit November 1st, my store started playing Christmas music. Everyone is getting ready for the holidays and so am I! Here we are today with another great gift set that rolled out for the 2014 holiday season. Todays blog post is a review on the Tarte Bon Voyage Collectors Set.

My main reason for purchasing this was that eyeshadow palette. This is the first time I've owned or used Tarte eyeshadows so I definitely did not know what to expect. For $71, this collectors set is jam packed full of goodies, bringing it up to a value of $501!

The bag
I love the make-up bag. I love all the Tarte collectors set bags. I purchased a set of Tarte stuff on Hautelook before, that came with a make-up bag, and it's awesome. This make-up bag is big enough to hold all the make-up I need and more for when I go to my boyfriend's house.

Close up.
Gold and purple. You can't go wrong with that combination.

The goods.
From left to right: You get a full size Tarte Lip Surgence Lip Tint, a full size lip gloss, a deluxe size Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara, a deluxe size cheek stain, deluxe size maracuja oil, and a deluxe size smooth operator finishing powder.

I've never been a huge fan of the LipSurgence by Tarte, or any crayon/stick lipsticks. This one is a cute shade of coral pink. It is a lot more pigmented than I expected, since most lip crayons I've used have been really sheer. The one thing about the lip tints is that it has a weird, mint scent to it. Almost similar, if not exactly like.. dental floss haha.
In the tube, the lip gloss colour looks extremely opaque, but it comes off a lot more transparent when swatched. Its a beautiful peachy colour that works well with the lip tint. It also has a nice warm vanilla scent.

 Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
I've received one of these mascaras in the past before and the packaging used to look exactly like the packaging of the full size one. For this year they changed it up and made the packaging resembling giraffe, or maybe aligator skin? haha I have no idea but it's cute. The mascara itself is wonderful and adds a lot of depth and volume to my lashes.

If I'm not mistaken, this shade is made exclusively for the Bon Voyage set. Along with the lip tint and lip gloss. So what reason do you have to not get this set? I'm not a huge fan of wet blushes, or stains I suppose, but this colour is so pretty. Its a very pale pink, leaning towards a light brown, with an iridescence.

I'd like to say that the first two times I've received a deluxe sample of this, I never used it. Receiving it now as well, I'm going to try to use it. I stay away from anything that has the word "oil" in it because I have extremely oily skin. Upon reading the reviews of this it apparently helps control oil, so I'm definitely going to give this product a shot.

I've heard amazing things about this finishing powder, and as someone with oily skin, I was excited to receive this. It leaves your skin looking matte with no white overcast.

Swatches:
From left to right: Tarte "Romantic" Lip Tint, Tarte "Visionary" Lip Gloss, and Tarte "Muse" Cheek Stain.

The Eyeshadow Palette
My favourite item in this whole set. I stood in Sephora for about an hour deciding between this whole set and just picking up a different limited edition eyeshadow palette from Tarte. I'm so happy I chose this because you get way more for your money. I tried to find a link to the palette I was going to purchase but I have no success in my search. Definitely must've been limited edition then if it's already gone! It was similar to this palette but with 16 shades instead of 20 (I think).

Overall view:
I love the colours in this palette. You get such a huge variety of shades, and they're all rather large (full size I believe) shadows.

You can go from an everyday look to a dramatic look easily with this palette.

Look at the swirls I made with my fingers hehe.

First row:
My favourite row because its all colours I would wear daily. I can see why people complained about the eyeshadows being chalky. I can definitely see what they mean, but it's still wearable. I've worn the eyeshadows for about 8 hours with primer, and it lasted the full 8 hours no problem. The texture is velvety, but not creamy. The formula is quite amazing to me though. I feel like this whole row is very similar to the colours in the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette, but instead of a rose gold undertone, these are more of a pink/purple undertone.

Second row:
Brown eyeshadow colours are probably my go to shadows. These shades are perfect for everyday wear and creating a dramatic smokey eye. This row is comparable to the Urban Decay Naked2 Basics.

Third Row:
If you haven't noticed already, a lot of the eyeshadow names are of places and monuments! These colours remind me of the Wet N Wild "Comfort Zone" eyeshadow palette.

Last row:
Besides the first row, the last row of shadows are extremely pigmented. The black went on beautifully which is amazing. The only colour in this whole palette that I disliked would probably be "C'est la vie" because it was very glittery and transparent compared to the rest.

Verdict:
Overall, I feel like this is one of the best valued gift sets from Sephora right now. You get a huge eyeshadow palette with a large variety of shades to work with. You also get two full size lip products, a skin care product, two face products, and also a mascara! It also comes with a nifty carrying case for all your make-up. This is the current make-up bag that I'm using, and I absolutely love it. Its the perfect size to fit in my backpack without making my bag into such an oblong shape, which I get with most of my bulky make-up bags. Effectiveness? All the products have worked well for me, so I don't see any issues at all.
