Beauty Blender Bounce Liquid Whip Longwear Foundation Review (Shade 2.3)

Another foundation review? Yes please! You guys already know it’s one of my favourite makeup products to review. When I heard that Beauty Blender was coming out with a foundation, I knew I had to get my hands on it. The Beauty Blender itself was and still is, one of the most innovative and life changing products in the makeup industry. Many reasons why I wanted to try this foundation, was the fact it claimed to last up to 24 hours.

I am currently on the market to find a foundation that lasts all day and night, as I am going to a wedding this weekend! This foundation claims to last up to 24 hours, and is suppose to have a velvet matte finish.

Not only are you getting a foundation though, the packaging itself also is a little dish for your foundation!! I originally was using a metal plate I purchased at IMATS many years ago, but this just makes it easier since it’s all in one. I’m also loving the pearlized finish on the backside.

If you’re worried about the foundation not properly landing onto the dish portion, they already have that all figured out. The nozzle that dispenses the foundation is angled so when you press down the pump, the product is dispensed onto the back.

It’s super cute! I’ve never had a foundation this shape. It’s kind of big and oblong, but it’s different! There’s also a locking mechanism so you don’t accidentally dispense product when you don’t want to. I got the shade 2.3 based on my Sephora shade match. (To be honest, I last did colour match over 6 years ago, so I don’t even think it was accurate but I went with it!)

As you can see, the product drips onto the backside so you have a spot for your Beauty Blender to dab on. So genius!

Here is the shade on my arm. The colour 2.3 is suppose to be a medium shade with yellow undertones. The colour definitely looked darker on my arm than on my face when I applied it, but we will see if I have to change it or not, after a few more uses.

Here is my bare ass face. I actually look pretty pale this summer, so I figured the colour could work on me.

Okay, so with the foundation only, I felt that the colour was wayyyyyyyy too light on me. It could also be the flash, so now I’m definitely reconsidering wearing this to a wedding, since many photos will be taken. I’ll for sure have to test it more after this.

beauty blender foundation, beauty blender foundation review, beauty blender bounce review, beautyblender bounce foundation review, beauty blender bounce liquid whip longwear foundation review, beauty blender shade 2.3, shade 2.3 swatches, beauty blender shade 2.3 swatches,
It’s definitely whiter than most foundations I’ve tried, so I could for sure probably go for a darker shade. It’s not too bad I must say. The foundation applies on very nicely, but you do have to use a lot to get to full coverage. I used 5 pumps to achieve this look. It’s super lightweight that I didn’t feel like I was wearing make-up at all! You definitely do get a very velvety-matte finish, and I didn’t feel like it was heavy or cakey at all.

beauty blender foundation, beauty blender foundation review, beauty blender bounce review, beautyblender bounce foundation review, beauty blender bounce liquid whip longwear foundation review, beauty blender shade 2.3, shade 2.3 swatches, beauty blender shade 2.3 swatches,
I’m not gonna lie, I look pretty darn oily. For 10 hours though? It’s not too bad! I always have blotting sheets with me, so I could easily fix the problem. At the 6 hour mark is when I start getting oily, and this foundation lasted past that, before I had to blot my face. With some foundations, I get some weird separation around my nose, and everything gets all patchy and weird. This foundation was able to withstand all that, so I was super happy.

UPDATE AFTER 3 DAYS OF USE:
From my initial test, I used the foundation along with my favourite concealer, which is the Tarte Shape Tape concealer. I figured maybe if I change up my routine a bit, I could get a better idea of the actual foundation itself. I skipped using concealer, and to my surprise, it lasted WAY longer without it!

Jump to the next day, I skipped the concealer again and then I mixed the foundation with one of my Colourpop No Filter Foundations, just so the shade would be slightly darker. I was happy to find that the formula still worked amazing and the foundation lasted all day. What I love most about this foundation is how lightweight it is. Even though my face may look like an oily mess at the end of the day, it didn't feel gross at all. Sometimes, the oil from my face mixes with the foundation, causing my face to feel really gross and heavy. I don't get this feeling at all with this foundation. I even wore it to the gym, got super sweaty, and my face still felt good.

So does it last 24 hours? If my face was normal and didn't get as oily as it did, yeah I could totally see it lasting 24 hours. I love how lightweight it is, it's almost like you're not wearing any make-up! I love to cake on that foundation, and this one sure doesn't feel cakey at all.

Most likely this shade will end up being my winter colour, and I'll probably have to buy another shade to use for summer, but mixed with another foundation, or maybe even a lot of bronzer, I could make it work!

Are you thinking of trying this foundation?

Sephora Favorites Trending: Beauty's Most Coveted 2016 Review + Swatches

Remember when I said to look forward to more value sets coming up? Well, here we are with another one! Believe me when I say, I'm obsessed with value sets. Let's just say there's a few more reviews coming your way :)

This has got to be the one I was most excited about. The Sephora Favorites Trending: Beauty's Most Coveted set contains 12 bestsellers, ranging from a variety of different beauty trends. I love that this set has many different types of items, rather than sticking to one theme. You can create a whole look with this set alone, which could also make a great Christmas gift to those who you may have problems shopping make-up for! I find it hard to pin point a particular make-up product as a gift for someone, so why not purchase a set with a variety of items?

On the box, the sticker says the set contains $263 values worth of items, for only $90. Now $90 may seem steep for a set with many deluxe items, but there are a few full sized ones too! I will be doing a break down of the value of each item, and we shall see at the end if this set is worth your money.

I love that you get a full sized Beauty Blender with this set. I could always use more Beauty Blenders. I love that it's the nude one as well because my pink Beauty Blenders are super stained, and this one will always look clean when I use it haha.

As cute as the Foreo Luna Play is, I don't think this product is worth the value at all. Because it's not chargeable, the claims are that you can use it up to 100 uses. I've heard many people say that it works for way less than that, which can be disheartening, considering you're throwing it away once it's dead. I'd be pretty disappointed to throw away $50 after a few uses! I myself own the Foreo Luna Mini 2, and I absolutely LOVE it. Just go for the rechargeable full sized one. Don't waste your time on the play version! I'll probably be saving this for when I go on vacation and want something to use for a week or so, rather than bringing my full sized one.

The Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is already one of my holy grail products. I love using this setting powder to bake under my eyes, t-zone area, and to mattify my face. I could build the coverage and it doesn't get cakey at all. This is the travel sized version, which I'm going to love to carry around with me, especially on my long work days. It also came with a puff too, so I don't have to worry about carrying a brush with me. Don't worry about a crazy white cast either, this product does the job, and keeps everything matte for hours.

I'm in love with Becca Cosmetics X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop. I actually wanted to try out Moonstone to see how I liked it, so it was a nice surprise to see it in the set.

Moonstone is a very light pale gold, which may seem a bit chalky on my skin. I'll have to really test it on my face to see how I like it first before giving a full review on the shade. For a first impression though, it's cute, probably will look best on my winter skin since I get a lot lighter.

I was shocked to see that when I did the math for this, the deluxe size is still almost $20. The price for the regular size one is almost $80, so I guess in a way it makes sense. I've been really interested in skin care lately, and Glamglow is definitely one of the brands I've been looking to try. I will probably be doing a review on this in the near future!

This lipstick is described as a matte bright red, and man is it gorgeous. The lipstick glides like a dream, and the colour is very opaque and intense. Even though it's a matte formula, it's not overly drying.

I was pretty sure I did a review on this concealer a while ago, but of course I can't find it in my copious amount of reviews. This used to be one of my favourite concealers to use, but the downside was the price point.

This is actually quite the peculiar product. Apparently this little tube is the full size (it's tiny in person). so it's crazy that it's $24. When swatched, the colour is gorgeous. The only thing with stick highlighters, is that it's always hard to blend. I usually stray away from stick highlighters because I have oily skin, and I tend to cake my face with powder to set everything. My last step is usually my highlighter, and the fact that it's stick makes it difficult to blend out without ruining my foundation.

I have yet to try this product yet, but I am quite excited to. I may do a separate review on this once I do try it, to let you guys know my thoughts. It's suppose to be a 4-in-1 mist. It's a setting spray, primer, hydrating mist and skin refresher in one. So many things!

Why was this my first time trying this product?? This is one of the best eyeliners I've ever used, hands down. It doesn't smudge at all, and it doesn't get flakey when you want to reapply layer after layer. I'm one of those people who need to make my liner thicker and thicker because I'm terrible at making clean lines. This eyeliner is amazing.

I've been experimenting a lot with the new Benefit products, and I'm excited to try this one. I've been using the Anastasia brow gel for a while, so this one should be up my alley. The shade does appear to be a lot lighter than what I'm used to, but it should be able to work out okay.

I honestly thought this was a really big eyeliner pencil, but it turns out to be an eyeshadow stick, eyeliner, and primer in one! It has a built in sharpener at the base, which is amazing, and the versatility of this product makes it definitely a stand out in this set. The black is SUPER dark and very pigmented. I'll probably be using it on days I want striking, dark smoky eyes!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Review

I've been in the market to find a new alternative for the Beauty Blender, considering it doesn't appear the company will be at this year's Toronto IMATS :( I showed the bag of Beauty Blenders I got in my 2014 IMATS Haul and Experience post, and I was able to get my hands on 6 Beauty Blenders and a cleanser for only $60. That's insane! The retail price for a Beauty Blender is $26, so it was a total steal. I really hope they're going to be at IMATS, because that's the only reason I really wanted to go back this year. Anyway, enough of the story time.

I've heard great things about the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, and I knew I had to try it. It has been compared to the Beauty Blender, and some even claim it to be the perfect dupe, and/or better option.

Compared to the Beauty Blender, the Real Techniques sponge cannot be stored back in it's original packaging once you're finished using it. It's just too bulky to be put into a make-up bag, so you're just left carrying the naked sponge in your bag.

The Real Techniques sponge has a pointed end and a flat end, which makes it great for getting into the creases of your face, like your nose. That's the one thing I loved about this sponge in comparison to the Beauty Blender. The RT sponge was a lot more dense than the BB sponge, and both got a lot bigger and softer once soaked with water.

The flat edge of the sponge makes blending around your nose so easy.

Excuse the dirtiness haha. Compared to the RT sponge, the Beauty Blender is more rounded, but does the job when it comes to blending your foundation flawlessly.

real techniques, real techniques sponge, real techniques miracle complexion sponge, real techniques sponge review, real techniques miracle complexion sponge review, real techniques sponge vs beauty blender, beauty blender dupe, real techniques miracle complexion sponge vs beauty blender
So who's the winner here? It all depends if you've tried the Beauty Blender or not. Because I've tried the Beauty Blender, hands down I would choose the Beauty Blender. It may be more expensive, but it did a better job at blending my foundation. The Real Techniques sponge is wonderful, but it soaked up a lot of water, and I felt that it also soaked up the foundation too much as well.

The Real Techniques sponge wins in application based on the shape, but the Beauty Blender wins by being better at blending and making your foundation look amazing. If you haven't tried the Beauty Blender, or don't want to spend that much on a sponge, the Real Techniques sponge is a real contender. A great budget foundation applicator, that gets the job done.

Are you a Beauty Blender lover or do you prefer foundation brushes?
