Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Review + Swatches

I decided to try something new this year, and it was to use my Iphone to take my blog photos. Normally I would whip out my DSLR or my point and shoot, but I felt like, the best way I can quickly shoot out a few blog posts, is to try and quickly take photos with my phone instead. As easy as it made out to be, I'm not loving the quality of the photos. It looked really good on my phone, but now as I see them posted on my blog, I feel like it could've been better. I did edit them a bit, but clearly, it'll never be as good as a DSLR. 

Today's post will be on the new Sephora Favorites: Give Me Some New Lip Kit which is new for the Spring 2018 season. As soon as I saw it available, I knew I had to get my hands on it. You can see my true love for these sets; here,  here, here, and here. I am obsessed with these sets because I totally think they're worth the money! If you're a make-up collector, new to make-up or know someone who loves male-up, these sets/kits are awesome to give. You get a great variety of lip products, and you get to try new brands and formulas! 

There was a great variety of shades, formulas and brands in this years kit, and I am in love! I got to try out two brands/lip products I wasn't familiar with, and for the price I paid, it was worth trying! 

Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte in "XO, Vlada (Full Size)

I love the Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipsticks, so I already knew this was a great product to start with. The shade itself is absolutely beautiful. For myself though? I'm on the fence about it. It's definitely a shade that is out there, and very metallic. It's gorgeous nonetheless, but I personally wouldn't wear this on it's own. Maybe I would add a bit of it on the center of my lips, to enhance my look, or even use it as an eyeshadow shade! 

It's a beautiful rose gold/copper shade on my lips. 

Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in "Snobby" (Deluxe Size) 

At the end of last year, I found a new love for the Huda Beauty brand. I've tried another lip strobe in one of the lip kits and really enjoyed the dimension it brought to your lips. 

This shade is a stunningly beautiful iridescent pink, with a mixture of greenish, purple hues to it. It looks way better in person! 

Just topped over my naked lips. The formula isn't too tacky, and it wears nice on its own or over another lip shade. 

Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in "Night Mauves" (Full size)

I've mentioned it before on my blog, and I'll mention it again. I despise lip crayons. I don't know why, but I just do! This one claims to have the look, wear and feel of a liquid lipstick, but in crayon form. Why not just stick with the liquid lipstick form?! Marc Jacobs came out with a liquid lipstick and it's actually one of my favourites that I own. 

Okay, but I'm not going to lie to you guys. The formula itself is actually very nice compared to other lip crayons I've tried in the past. Most of them really dragged on my lips and provided minimal coverage. This lip crayon was very soft, buttery and comfortable. The colour payoff was great and the product glided on effortlessly. It felt like I was applying a very lightweight lipstick. You barely felt it sitting on your lips. 

At first, I was thinking I would love the shade, but after putting it on, I'm not so sure. I read a little more about the product, and they have some sort of "ghost pearl" to the fomula, to provide a bit more dimension in the lip product. I would of preferred it to have a flat matte finish, so maybe that's why I don't like the shade as much as I would've wanted. If it were a line of matte crayons, then yes, I would've definitely repurchased something in this line of lip crayons, considering how much I hate them! 

Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Mattemoiselle Plush Matte Lipstick in "Candy Venom" (Deluxe Size) 

Not going to lie, one of the main reasons I wanted to get this lip kit was because of the Mattemoiselle lipstick. I wanted to try the formula before buying the full size product, and I am so glad I did. 

This shit is A-MA-ZING. It's extremely lightweight, the colour is vibrant and absolutely GORGGGGG. I have about two other lipsticks in my collection that I love dearly, and are pretty close to this shade, but nothing compares to the formula for the Mattemoiselle lipstick. It glides on with ease and it doesn't feel dry at all considering it's a matte lipstick. I have dry as hell lips because I don't wear lip balm often, and it still looked great. 

LOOK AT THAT STUNNING COLOUR. I am literally in love with this formula. Another Fenty Beauty product that I absolutely love. I'm still iffy about purchasing the full size product because their isn't a shade that stands out to me that much that I would buy one, but maybe when she releases more colours that I feel I would love, I will get my hands on them. 

treStiQue Mini Plumping Lip Balm in Barbados Berry

I personally never heard of the brand, but it's nice to see something different in these lip kits. It claims to be a plumping balm, but I didn't really feel any tingly sensations or a difference in my lip size. 

It's quite pigmented for a lip balm. The one thing I don't like is the size of the balm. For something that has a lot of colour, it's gigantic in size, so I don't see any precision when using this product at all. 

It adds a nice bright reddish pink shade to my lips, definitely livens it up. A nice lip balm but a very unpractical size.

Sephora Favorites: Give Me More Lip 2017 Review + Swatches

Yasssssss my favourite Sephora Favorites set came out and it's better than ever. Unfortunately though, I believe it's currently sold out, but of course I got swatches, and lip swatches in case you're interested in purchasing the product separate from this set. 

I wish I wore lip products more often, but I'm absolutely obsessed with collecting them, that's for sure. The Give Me More Lip is the perfect way to try out a variety of brands, along with a good variety of colours. This set was definitely more pricey than the ones in the past ($82), but you got 5 FULL SIZE lip products, and 10 deluxe sized lip products. I barely finish my lipsticks, so deluxe sized products are great for me! 

A little overview of all the lip products you get. I feel like every year, the brands get better, and the shades are always amazing and work with a lot of skin tones.

I've been moving away from liquid lipsticks recently, because hydration is my new best friend. I was happy to see some lip glosses in the set, because they're my new favourite. I used to hate lip glosses a few years back, but now they're amazing to me. I love the glossy look and the fact that I don't have to worry about how dry my lips are, they always hide that haha. 

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in "Vintage" (Full Size) 

I hate that my camera picked up two different types of lighting. I really need to work on that. Sorry that my arm swatches are more warm, and my lip swatches are more cool -_-. 

Vintage is a beautiful Victorian rose shade, and I am in love. It's such a beautiful dusty rose, and the formula of the ABH lip glosses are amazing. Super pigmented and smooth. It glides on effortlessly. 5/5. 

Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in "Pink" (deluxe size) 

My first impression of this wasn't very good. I was wondering why my lips weren't on fire, and why the results weren't instant. Upon doing more research after writing my post, I found that the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer only provides a subtle tingle, with a very refreshing cooling effect. Apparently, you have to use the product a few times before you can see any results. I used it for about a week or so, and I wouldn't say their are super noticeable results, but I do enjoy wearing this on my lips, bare or with a lipstick. 5/5

At first, I was thrown off by the scent, and felt it kind of smelt medical-y. Upon further research, it turns out it's suppose to be a vanilla-mint scent! It's.. an okay smell in my opinion.

Of course, there's no real changes here, but it's a very nice sensation on the lips. 

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick in "Drivers Seat" (deluxe size)

I really love the formula of the Smashbox liquid lipsticks, so this is always nice to see. 

It comes out as a very coral pink/red. The formula is fast drying, and could be a little on the drier side, so make sure to moisturize. I find the Smashbox liquid lipsticks to be very comfortable, and it doesn't take out too much moisture from your lips. 4/5

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte in "Bombshell" (full size)

I'm actually obsessed with Huda Beauty as an overall brand now. Throughout the past few weeks I've really been loving this liquid lipstick. The formula is extremely comfortable and not at all drying. It transferred a bit for me, but the colour was still visible after I ate or drank anything. The colour was still there at the end of the day, but a touch up is nice to get everything even again. 5/5

I've been reaching for this gorgeous nude pink almost on the daily now. I absolutely love it. 

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Lip Rescue in "Nude" (full size)

I normally don't use any of Tarte's lip products, but this one was very nice. It definitely lives up to the name "quench" because this lip balm provides extreme moisture. I feel like I dipped my lips in water/oil (in a good way). It has high shine and a lit tint to it. 4/5

Extremely comfortable on the lips. It's a great lip balm with a hint of subtle colour. 

I'm not a big fan of crayon lipsticks. I really just don't see the use of them or why anyone would get them personally. This was not an exception either. It was a very pigmented product, but I wasn't a fan of the formula or how it looked on me. 2/5.

Wander Beauty Wanderout Dual Lipstick in "Nikki Beach" (full size)

This was my first time trying out Wander Beauty. I love the packaging and the fact that there's two lipsticks in one! 

These colours were super pigmented and glided on smooth. I'm especialy loving the deep magenta shade. 

So pretty! 3/5

I wasn't the biggest fan of this lipstick, as pretty as the colour was. I found it to be too peach for me, and since the colour was so light, I feel like it wasn't as even as I would hope it to be. 

There was no scent with this lipstick, which is always nice for me. I feel like this shade just didn't do it for me though. 2/5

I love the formulation on the Marc Jacobs lipsticks. They're absolutely amazing. 

With one swipe, you get gorgeous, deep, rich colour, and it's super hydrating as well. 

The formula is very creamy, and very comfortable on the lips. It transfers a lot considering how creamy it is, but the pigmentation is on point. It's a very feminine, mauve pink. 5/5

The pigmentation on YSL lipsticks is outstanding. You barely have to apply pressure to get good colour out of this lipstick. It's smooth and silky, like applying butter to your lips. The one thing I hate about this lipstick is the scent though. It has a very overpowering perfume scent, which is kind of a turn off when it comes to something you're putting on your lips. I feel like I can almost taste it. 2.5/5

I kind of made a mess, because it was absolutely creamy and went everywhere hahaha. 

Now this is one of the lipsticks that you get, just to have something different in your collection. It's a gorgeous, funky, magenta with lots of sparkle in it. It's wearable, but maybe for a fun night out on the town. 

Despite the chunks of glitter, it was still very smooth and the colour was there. 2/5

This Bobbi Brown lipstick was one of the other full size lipsticks that you received. Pretty packaging, and an even prettier shade. It has a very vampy dark lip vibe to it. 

It reminds me of a grape popsicle kind of shade. The colour payoff is great and the lipstick is very hydrating on the lips. 3/5

This was the one product, I felt was an absolute disaster. I don't know if it was because it didn't settle properly, but this lipstick did not go on nicely. 

It was very streaky, and the colour was uneven. The gloss was okay, but the lipstick side was horrendous. 

I don't see this shade being wearable for me at all. I could see this working as more of a cream eyeshadow shade, so maybe I'll try to see if I can get alternative use out of this. 1/5

I instantly fell in love with this lip stain, that I bought it in a full size. That was probably a mistake, considering how many lipsticks I have, and how little time I have to wear them all. 

The Sephora Collection Cream lip stains have an amazing formula that settles quickly and provides a beautiful stain like finish. It still transfers a little, but most of the colour does not budge. It's a very basic blue-red, that I absolutely adore. 5/5

This was my first time trying the Too Faced Melted Latex. I found this product it be super weird and super different than what I was used to. It is like a lip gloss, but way more pigmented and extra sticky. It's surprisingly comfortable for such a sticky product, and the colour shined beautifully, despite the runnier texture. 

Makes my lips look extra juicy.
