Cetaphil Dermacontrol Review + Giveaway! (Giveaway Closed)

Are you just excited as I am? Today I will be doing a full review on the Cetaphil Dermacontrol line! At the end of this review, I will also be telling you guys about an awesome chance to win the products I'm reviewing too! This is my first giveaway ever and I'm so excited for it!!

I've always wanted to try Cetaphil products before, but I just never got around to it. To be honest, I am not a skincare person, and I never really took care or appreciated my skin. Lately though, I've been breaking out really bad and my skin has been looking terrible and super oily. Lucky for me, I got this great opportunity to finally try Cetaphil products. Not only did I get a chance to try Cetaphil, I got to try their line of oil control products. It was like this campaign was made for me!

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer and Foam Wash
Lets get into the details. The Cetaphil Dermacontrol line is a daily skincare regimen that is made specifically for people with oily, combination, blemish-prone skin. That perfectly described me, so I'm very happy to have gotten a chance to try a product that suits my needs. These products work together with their oil absorbing zinc complex, to remove excess oil and help improve the skin's appearance.

I've been using these products for maybe about 3 weeks now and here are the results.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash
This foaming wash claims to deep clean and remove excess oil. It does exactly that. A little too well. What do I mean by that? It definitely leaves my face feeling extremely clean after my wash, but though it says its non drying, its super drying. It MAY have to do with the fact that I use it twice though. I use it once to remove the make-up residue I have after using a make-up removing wipe, and then the second time is to cleanse my face. That could be the reason, otherwise it definitely leaves my face completely matte once I wash it. (I just reviewed this post again after changing my skin care routine over the last few days before finalizing this post. When you wash your face once with this product, it isn't super drying on the face!)

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Moisturizer
This moisturizer does a pretty decent job in adding back the moisture in my skin after the cleanser completely matted my face. It isn't like normal moisturizers that are a lot more .. transparent and thin? It leans more towards a sunscreen like texture (it does have SPF 30 which is amazing), but it doesn't leave a sunscreen like finish. The moisturizer absorbs quickly in your skin and has a matte finish too. I do enjoy using this moisturizer, but for some areas of my face that get completely dried out from the cleanser, it isn't strong enough for me. Over this winter I've gotten more dry patches on my face; above my eyebrows, and around my mouth and nose. I would say, if you have really oily skin and the cleanser doesn't dry you out, this moisturizer would work great for you. This is good for my regularly oily areas like my forehead and t-zone, but it doesn't do the job on my dry patches.

Overall Impression: I would definitely repurchase the cleanser, and possibly repurchase the moisturizer. The cleanser in my opinion does a wonderful job at removing excess oil. The moisturizer however, didn't do the greatest job on areas I had which were already dry. Overall it did a good job, just didn't moisturize the best in dry spots.
