Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleansing Cloths Review (Giveaway Closed)

Besides cleansing milks and cleansing waters, my favourite way to remove make-up has got to be make-up wipes/cleansing cloths. Once again, I got a wonderful opportunity to work with Cetaphil, and they also would like to host a giveaway for my readers! Stay tuned for how you can enter.

I was happy to see that Cetaphil was branching out into new types of skincare products, and it was even more exciting to find out it would be cleansing cloths! These cleansing cloths are great for removing dirt, surface oils and make-up without leaving your skin feeling dry or irritated. These cloths leave your skin feeling fresh and clean, without disturbing your skin's natural pH balance as well.

Compared to regular cleansing cloths/make-up wipes, these wipes are more versatile in my opinion. Most wipes I've used in the past have only worked in removing make-up. This one can be used any time because it doesn't leave a film or residue on your face like most wipes. These wipes work wonders when you feel your face needs some freshening up.

This would be an amazing product to throw in your carry on bag when you're on a long plane ride. About two years ago, I went to Vietnam, and the flight from Toronto to Hong Kong was about 13+ freaking hours. Imagine being on a plane for that long, how dirty your face feels after. The only thing that the airline provided was wet naps, and that does nothing but dry out your face bad. Along side that, these would be awesome to bring to Vietnam (which I am going to next summer), because they can help with removing dirt/sweat after walking outside in the hot sun.

You get a huge cleansing cloth too! This is about double the size of a regular make-up wipe. There's no fragrance so it works well for sensitive skin, and for all skin types really. You just use the wipe and there is no rinsing required.

It's a lot drier than most wipes I've used in the past, but it's better than having your face dripping in liquids when you're on the go. Not only is it removing make-up and dirt, it's keeping your face moisturized.

Another bonus: It has an actual closing lid! Most cleansing cloths/make-up wipes I've used just have the resealable sticker flap. Which becomes useless once it isn't sticky anymore.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Review + Giveaway! (Giveaway Closed)

Are you just excited as I am? Today I will be doing a full review on the Cetaphil Dermacontrol line! At the end of this review, I will also be telling you guys about an awesome chance to win the products I'm reviewing too! This is my first giveaway ever and I'm so excited for it!!

I've always wanted to try Cetaphil products before, but I just never got around to it. To be honest, I am not a skincare person, and I never really took care or appreciated my skin. Lately though, I've been breaking out really bad and my skin has been looking terrible and super oily. Lucky for me, I got this great opportunity to finally try Cetaphil products. Not only did I get a chance to try Cetaphil, I got to try their line of oil control products. It was like this campaign was made for me!

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Moisturizer and Foam Wash
Lets get into the details. The Cetaphil Dermacontrol line is a daily skincare regimen that is made specifically for people with oily, combination, blemish-prone skin. That perfectly described me, so I'm very happy to have gotten a chance to try a product that suits my needs. These products work together with their oil absorbing zinc complex, to remove excess oil and help improve the skin's appearance.

I've been using these products for maybe about 3 weeks now and here are the results.

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Foam Wash
This foaming wash claims to deep clean and remove excess oil. It does exactly that. A little too well. What do I mean by that? It definitely leaves my face feeling extremely clean after my wash, but though it says its non drying, its super drying. It MAY have to do with the fact that I use it twice though. I use it once to remove the make-up residue I have after using a make-up removing wipe, and then the second time is to cleanse my face. That could be the reason, otherwise it definitely leaves my face completely matte once I wash it. (I just reviewed this post again after changing my skin care routine over the last few days before finalizing this post. When you wash your face once with this product, it isn't super drying on the face!)

Cetaphil Dermacontrol Oil Control Moisturizer
This moisturizer does a pretty decent job in adding back the moisture in my skin after the cleanser completely matted my face. It isn't like normal moisturizers that are a lot more .. transparent and thin? It leans more towards a sunscreen like texture (it does have SPF 30 which is amazing), but it doesn't leave a sunscreen like finish. The moisturizer absorbs quickly in your skin and has a matte finish too. I do enjoy using this moisturizer, but for some areas of my face that get completely dried out from the cleanser, it isn't strong enough for me. Over this winter I've gotten more dry patches on my face; above my eyebrows, and around my mouth and nose. I would say, if you have really oily skin and the cleanser doesn't dry you out, this moisturizer would work great for you. This is good for my regularly oily areas like my forehead and t-zone, but it doesn't do the job on my dry patches.

Overall Impression: I would definitely repurchase the cleanser, and possibly repurchase the moisturizer. The cleanser in my opinion does a wonderful job at removing excess oil. The moisturizer however, didn't do the greatest job on areas I had which were already dry. Overall it did a good job, just didn't moisturize the best in dry spots.

Now on to the giveaway.
Unfortunately, this giveaway is for Canadian residents only, sorry international friends :( I'll try to do an international giveaway in the near future! All you have to do is follow the steps below! Good luck! Contest ends January 22, 2015.

Winner will be announced on Twitter on the 22nd.
