I haven't been the biggest fan of pencil eyeliners lately, because I never felt the need of lining my waterline in my make-up routine. I used to be obsessed with wearing black eyeliner on my bottom waterline, and it made me look super emo back in high school.
Today I'll be reviewing the rather new, Make Up For Ever Aqua XL Eye Pencils in M-92 Matte Pastel Purple, and M-10 Matte Black.
I received these two gorgeous eye pencils at Gen Beauty Toronto, and I was amazed at how good they were. The girl at the Make Up For Ever booth drew on my hand and I went on with my day. The eyeliner stayed on and didn't smudge at all! Wearing it for 6 hours with a long sleeve, having it rub against my jacket. DID. NOT. BUDGE.
The pigmentation is phenomenal for these eyeliners. These liners will not fade, smudge, or crease until you remove it with make-up remover. The long-lasting waterproof formula works great on your waterline and smudges when you want that eyeshadow, smoky effect.
I wore the matte black on my lower lash line, and the pastel purple around my liquid liner. Both colours stayed vibrant and didn't smudge for 8+ hours of wear. I've actually seen some pretty bad reviews on these eyeliners, but I don't see any negatives about them. Some have said it doesn't stay on their waterline at all, but it seems to stay put for me. The only down side I would say is that the pencil tips are very soft, so pressing too hard would require you to sharpen it sooner than most liners.
I decided to do a test on my leg too. You know, for review purposes.
It just doesn't budge! Even after rolling my pants down, wearing tights, and sleeping, it stayed put.
