Probably one of my favourite types of reviews, today I will be reviewing the new L'oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. I love trying new foundations, in hopes to find a cheaper alternative to my new holy grail, the Estee Lauder Double Wear.
I've always been intrigued with the idea of cushion foundations, and was ecstatic to see that L'oreal was coming out with one. Essentially, the cushion foundation is just liquid foundation that is poured into a sponge, and you use another sponge to tap into the wet sponge, to get the product and apply.
1. Press the sponge into the cushion.
2. Tap on your skin.
3. Build as needed.
Simple isn't it? I had super high hopes for this foundation. It came in 8 shades, and I chose W3 Nude Beige.
I love the packaging and the choice of colours. You can't go wrong with white and rose gold! The product claims to give you a fresh luminous glow, and allows for buildable coverage by tapping on more.
The cute sponge and my dry ass fingers.
Looks like it would be pretty dark and have good coverage.
Here I am with no make-up.
With only the foundation. To my surprise I looked really really pale, and sick. Well, I was sick at the time I took this picture, but the foundation did not help at all with my colour. Definitely a luminous foundation for sure, since I look pretty glowy. I applied maybe 2-3 layers because I wanted fuller coverage.
A little powder later, and I look better.
To be honest, I wanted to like this foundation, and I absolutely hated it. It didn't last very long, and I guess considering it being luminous, it wasn't good for me being an oily skinned girl either. It slipped and came off so easily. Since I was sick, I was rubbing around my nose a lot and it came off with little to no effort. Even with primer and a lot of powder, this foundation did not last a full day on me, without my face feeling gross after. So disappointing! I would suggest skipping this if you have oily skin. I would see it working great for those with dry skin, since it does give you that dewy, glow look.
