Motives Cosmetics Haul and Mini Review

I'm so happy to be showing you guys what I ordered from Motives in the past week or so. Its actually been maybe 2-3 weeks since I got all this stuff, and I just took really long to upload this post so my apologies. I don't know if you are, but I'm one of the biggest procrastinators in the world, and I left 4 assignments til last minute so thats pretty much what I've been doing for the whole week. I have to read The Hobbit and The Time Machine by Sunday night so wish me luck! The good news is that I will be doing product reviews and comparisons for maybe all the products, so yay for that!

If you've never heard of Motives Cosmetics, its a make-up brand created by Loren Ridinger, senior vice-president of Market America. If you've never heard of Market America, long story short, its an internet marketing company that uses one-to-one marketing to distribute a variety of products to numerous markets. I've always been a skeptic towards the brand because first of all, I've never heard of it because they don't advertise their brand AT ALL. Over the years my mom has introduced me to their products (she's been working with Market America for about 6 years now), and I've grown to love the brand. Just a heads up, all the product names are links if you want to check it out! Oh yes, and also if you are from Canada or the US, all item links can be shipped to you. If you are international and would like to purchase any of these products, I shall provide secondary links to all products as well if they are available internationally. Unfortunately the global website does not have all the Motives products I am listing compared to the Canadian/US version, but I will do my best to find you all the links!

Lets begin this awesome haul!

I love that everything in this picture is basically black. A lot of people have compared Motives to Mac, and I do see the resemblance in packaging. Product wise, a lot of their products are extremely well made, so I can see why its been compared so much.

I am absolutely in love with my Beauty Blender sponge. To buy a product that is suppose to be a dupe for it is appalling to me. You bet your asses that I will be doing a comparison post on this! So far, from the feel of the sponge, it is significantly thicker than the sponge for the Beauty Blender. The main difference so far is the price, you pay half the price of a Beauty Blender for this sponge! We shall see what the results are in my next post :)

When you see the inside of this product, you're going to be like, "hey I think I've seen that somewhere before" ...

Woah!
It is because you have. It looks EXACTLY like the Smashbox Step by Step Contour Kit. This kit runs for $38 and the Smashbox one is $52. Don't think I will be doing a comparison review for this and the Smashbox one because I don't want to spend the extra money on a product thats basically the same for reviews sake. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. Its so much more convenient to carry around than me having to bring my bronzer and a bulky highligher as well. Everything is in one sleek case. The colours are very pigmented and the yellow/white highlight is not too white that you look ghostly. For the price you are paying, this is a great dupe if you don't want to pay the $52 for the Smashbox one.

Let me just tell you about these two products. To sum it up, they are both awesome. First of all, I used to be so lazy to put on primer til I realized it made such a huge difference with how long my make-up stayed on. My favourite before this one was the Smashbox Photofinish? This one works very well at keeping my make-up lasting all day. This liner. Is the best liner pen I have ever used (to this day). I switched from my holy grail L'oreal infallible gel liner to this because it took way too long to apply gel liner in the mornings. This eyeliner glides on effortlessly and dries so fast. I can reapply layers upon layers and it doesn't clump up or chip off. Highly recommend this out of everything in this post.
Yay for fall colours! The one thing I first noticed about Motives lipsticks is that the colour in the tube is so different (for most) from when you swatch them. I made sure to find swatches online first before I purchased these two colours, and I recommend you to as well. The packaging is really nice and the colours are very vibrant and fun. Look out for a look with these babies!

Swatches:
See what I mean? Jungle red looks a lot more like a bright red/pink. Scarlet comes off more deep red/burgundy than brown.

If you are in the market for a new make-up brand and love trying new things, I highly recommend trying Motives. Not only are you getting high end products for a moderate price, you can also get cash back from what you purchase on the website when you make an account. You can also get cashback from other sites such as Sephora, Forever 21, Anthropologie and even Walmart. If you're interested in learning more just let me know and I would love to make a blog post for you guys!

I also mentioned a few points about Shop.com which you can check out in this post here (The Best Online Shopping Websites).  You can purchase Motives products from the link I provided or worldwide directly on global.shop.com or from the Motives website motivescosmetics.com. Hope you guys enjoyed this haul and mini review! Thanks for reading :)

I am just going to put this out there now. I do not work for Motives Cosmetics directly, but my mom does work for the company that sells its products. This post or any of my future Motives Cosmetics posts are not sponsored and all opinions are my own. My mom sells a great brand and I definitely believe that they have great products.  I love my mom and I want to help her with her business any way I can, so I do it through blogging about the products, and make-up, which I love as well. There are products from the brand that I don't like and will mention in the future, so stay tuned.
