Quick Life Update:
So yeah, I went MIA from my blog for almost two months now LOL. Honestly, I literally got a new full time job after my last post, and my life did a complete 180 after that. Being at work from 7am to 7pm (sometimes even up to 11pm), really takes a toll on your life and hobbies. My weekends are spent with my boyfriend since I barely talk or see him during the weekdays. All we do is hang with our friends or run errands. I had to put blogging on the side until I could find the time to properly write posts again. Here we are for the long weekend, and I finally found time to sit in front of my laptop. I'm hoping I can try to post at least once a week, or a few times a month. Sorry for leaving everyone without notice! Now on to the review :)
I normally only like talking about things I love on my blog, but sometimes there's moments where you come across a product, that you totally want to love.. and just don't. I'm not here to bash the product, but to share my first impression on it. I was stoked to hear that L'oreal was coming out with a full coverage foundation. I was so up for it.
I previously reviewed the L'oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation, and even used it regularly for a while. I loved it. I was had high hopes for this foundation.
This foundation has a natural finish with full coverage. The texture is air light and it's suppose to last 24 hours.
I chose the shade natural beige, because anytime I purchase a shade that has the word "beige" in it, it's the right shade for me. BOY WAS I WRONG. It was too light. I should've went a shade darker. I still used it though, and bronzed the shit out of my face. It wasn't all that great.
I loved that it came in a sleek tube with a squeezable tip. Super handy when it comes to controlling the amount of foundation you want to come out.
It's funny how much more yellow and dark it looks on my arm, but it's super white on my face. Anyways, that's not the point here. Upon first use, I was happy to see that the texture was super air light, almost like a mousse foundation. The thing with that though, is sometimes it could appear drying on my skin. I guess that's not all a bad thing, considering I have very oily skin.
You can already see that it looks super dried out on my arm, and I literally just swatched the foundation on my arm.
It blended out very nicely though, on my arm and on my face. The coverage was definitely full, and it did an amazing job making my face look clear and even. Even using a Silisponge to blend it out, I had no problems or issues at all. My face looked damn flawless, despite the fact the colour was a bit too light on me. I wore it only for a 6 hour shift at work. Normally, at the 3 hour mark, I would have to blot my face, even with my favourite foundation. This stuff did not last at all. I looked like a hot mess by the 3 hour mark. The foundation felt super heavy on my face, like I was wearing a mask. I wear full coverage foundations every single day, and I work 12-15 hour days sometimes. I NEED a foundation that lasts all day, and doesn't feel heavy after a few hours. Surprisingly, there was no separation around my nose, and it stayed intact when I blotted my face.
It wasn't for me though. As amazing as the coverage was, I hated the fact it felt really heavy by the middle of the day. I love wearing a lot of make-up but I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a lot, if that makes any sense. Don't get me wrong, the foundation did wonders on providing the full coverage I wanted, but it didn't feel fresh all day. I could see myself wearing this if I needed something quick to go out and run errands, and I didn't want to look like a hot mess. Otherwise, it's a big pass on me and my oily skin.
