September 2014 Ipsy Bag Review

We are back with another Ipsy bag! If you are new to my site then welcome welcome! If you don't know what Ipsy is, I shall give you a little overview. Ipsy is a beauty subscription bag that you receive once every month. Each bag comes with 4-6 sample sized/full sized/deluxed sized products. If you follow Ipsy on Instagram you will see that at the beginning of every month they give little hints to the theme of the bag, and to what products you will be receiving.

This months theme was "Street Style".

My September Ipsy bag!
I love the idea of the bag, but I felt the bag this month was kind of ugly. They had a great concept, but once again it wasn't executed well in my opinion.

Nourish Organic Moisturizing Cream Face Cleanser - Deluxe Sample (Value: $2.33)
I've received a Nourish Organic product previously from Ipsy before and from what I remember I think I enjoyed the product. This face cleanser is very different from any that I have seen or used before. It is a cucumber and watercress cleanser (sounds very cool and refreshing, and I also love both those veggies to eat haha). This cleanser cleans your face without leaving your skin dry.

Alterna Hair Care Caviar CC Cream - Deluxe Size (Value: $8.50?)
I thought this was a face product when I first opened the bag and was highly disappointed that it wasn't. I mean, when you think CC cream you think for your face but nope this is a hair product. Not as exciting in my eyes but it got great reviews on Sephora. This is a 10-in-1 leave in hair perfector that provides moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, anti-breakage, heat protection, light hold, UV protection, manageability and strength. Thats a lot of things! I'm not one for hair products but giving this is a very popular product, its worth a shot.

I was extremely happy to receive this product because it was the one thing that I really wanted after seeing the sneak peek photos! This is a gorgeous red wine colour which is perfect for the fall season. I love fall the most because of the cool weather and deeper red/purple lipsticks. yay for fall!

I'm already a huge fan of Crown brushes because of Hautelook, so I was happy to see this brush in my bag. Their eyeshadow brushes are very soft and there is little to no hair fallout.

I'm not that huge of a fan of any other colour than black eyeliner. This claims to be a waterproof liner so that is one plus for this product. Pacifica products are awesome but this one may not be for me. I may use it for my waterline and then applying a little black liner on top so it will last longer, but we shall see.

Verdict:
Full Size Products: 2
Deluxe Size Products: 3
Samples: 0
Price for Bag: $10+tax/shipping=$16
Value of this months bag: $46.33
Mel's Rating: 3.5/5
Worth the money!

This months bag was worth the value that you paid for. Two full sized products well over the whole price of the bag itself. Ipsy is my longest beauty subscription that I've had (I've been with Glossybox Canada and Topbox in the past), and I will probably be staying with them forever unless they start going downhill.

  1. That's a pretty red color! I just got off the Ipsy waitlist so I receive my first bag in October! It will be fun comparing what I got to you. ;)
