This month's bag: "Pretty in Paradise"
This beautiful bag was designed by Rebecca Minkoff for Ipsy and its absolutely gorgeous. Its so vibrant and fun for summer. I wish the bag were a little bigger because it would make a great clutch! Well I can still use it as a make-up bag though.
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray - Deluxe Sample ($3 value)
Once again I have received a hair product from Ipsy even though everytime I take a quiz I state I don't want hair products. It may be because when you review a product they take the reviews into consideration, and I think I put "okay" as receiving hair products instead of the fact that I hated them. Anywho, lately I've been too lazy to straighten my hair or do anything with it, so this spray could definitely add some texture and style to my dull boring hair. At least it will look like I tried a little bit haha.
Dermadoctor DD Cream - Deluxe Sample ($9.50 value)
This DD cream claims to have 15 benefits to it! Thats a lot of things one cream can do. Apparently it mattifies, nourishes, firms, brightens, minimizes pores, reduces redness, and the list just goes on. Lately my skin has been acting up so badly, so lets see how this will work for me.
Be A Bombshell Lash Out Mascara - Full Size ($15)
I'm always happy to see Be A Bombshell Cosmetics in my Ipsy bags, because they always provide good quality products. I have received a blush and a lip gloss from them previously and I loved them both. It's nice to see that we get to try a range of their products and we aren't just receiving one type of product in different shades. This mascara claims to lengthen your lashes, and when you apply two to three coats it creates a dramatic look. My lashes definitely need some lengthening so this should be fun to try.
NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair - Full Size ($5)
I've been wanting to try NYX lip glosses and since I heard great things about this product, I was excited to see it in my bag. When I swatched it on my hand though it felt pretty sticky, but apparently that tacky feeling goes away after a while so I guess we shall see how it goes later. The shade itself is a very pretty pink shade, wearable for everyday.
Nicka Shimmer Eyeliner - Full Size ($5)
You can never go wrong with coloured eyeliners this season. This summer its been apparent that coloured eyeliners are totally trending right now. I was excited to see a different brand than the Chella eyeliner I got in one of my other Ipsy bags. It was a beautiful navy blue eyeliner but it did not go on very pigmented at all. I had to apply a few coats for it to stay on my eyelids. This is a teal/green shimmer eyeliner, and surprisingly the shimmer is not too tacky or glittery at all. Definitely going to try this for a summer look coming up soon.
Swatches:
Isn't the green eyeliner lovely? The lip gloss does appear super sticky when I swatched it so I'm hoping what people say are right and it goes away after a while. Actually, these two swatches seem to go together pretty well so maybe I'll recreate a look with everything I got in this bag!
Verdict:
Full Size Products: 3
Deluxe Size Products: 2
Samples: 0
Price for Bag: $10+tax/shipping=$16
Value of this months bag: $37.50
Mel's Rating: 4.5/5
Amazing!
I think this is the one bag that I will probably end up using everything in it more than once! I would of given it a full 5/5 if the lip gloss wasn't such a sticky texture, but I guess I just have to wear it out first to see how it works out for me.
