Well it's about damn time that I posted up something on my blog. I'm super excited about this post too, considering Morphe Me has stepped up their packaging game. Today I'll be going over the contents of the August Morphe Me subscription.
Lets start with a little more information on what Morphe Me is. Morphe Me is a subscription box service that sends you at least $30 worth of brushes to your door every month for $19.99/month. They also have the an annual fee option of $239.99 that also includes a free 35O palette, which is a gorgeous eyeshadow palette that's sought out by every make-up lover and the like.
Currently, the subscription only ships to Canada and the United States.
Besides receiving up to $30 in brushes, Morphe also offers discounts on Morphe products, first access to new Morphe products, and even how to videos every month on how you can use your new brushes.
The brushes came packaged in a black bubble mailer. Previously, the brushes came in a paper envelope, which was nice because it's easy to rip, but the brushes weren't protected well.
Not only did the mailing packaging change, the brushes also come packaged with a mesh plastic! They originally only came in a plastic bag, but now they have a tight fitting mesh around the bigger brushes, allowing more protection for the bristles. I definitely will be keeping those for when I'm travelling with my brushes.
They never had this before, but I'm assuming they are creating themes with each month's bag now? This month, we received a sticker that says "wanderlust". Super cute colours I must say.
We received similar cards like this in the previous bags, just listing the social media accounts for Live Glam.
On the opposite side it shows you information about the points you earn from having a Morphe Me subscription. You can use those reward points towards free make-up and brushes.
This is what I was hoping they would finally have. A product card! I love that they have the brushes displayed with a gorgeous background.
On the back of that photo they have a little blurb relating to the theme of the month, along with the brush names and fake ways to use the brushes. I don't know why they wouldn't write the real ways to use them, but of course a great way to get people to go to the website to learn more.
I find that this brush is perfect for highlighting the inner corner of my eyes. It's also great for smoking out your eyeshadow on your lower lash line.
I was quite excited to see a blender brush in this month's bag. This brush is absolutely perfect for contouring and getting into the hollows of your cheeks. It blends bronzer effortlessly. The bristles are densely packed and short, and isn't too flimsy when you're swirling and buffing in the colour.
Wait. ANOTHER contour brush? I was hoping the brushes wouldn't be the same in the same bag, but I guess it's an exception if it has more than one use. I found that the bristles on this brush to be longer, making it more of a loose, flexible brush. It works great for baking under the eye and applying highlight.
I actually thought this was a foundation brush, considering it's so flat, but apparently it's a blush brush. I prefer using rounder brushes for my blush, so I found this brush to work well for applying bronzer (just adding colour to my face not actually blending).
Since all the brushes are out of stock, I'll have to update the value of the box after. I enjoyed the quality and a majority of the brushes from this month's collection. However, I didn't like the fact that 3 out of the 4 brushes were contour brushes. Of course there are many types of brushes for contouring, and everyone likes a different type, but I would of preferred a variety this month.
Final Verdict:
Price of Subscription: $19.99/month + shipping = $26.06
Number of Products: 4
Value of box: $?
Mel's Rating: 3/5
Good!
